+1 This summer hasn’t been bad by DC standards. Summer here just sucks.

This is the 2nd most humid summer on record. It is bad by DC standards.

Every local meteorologist has been stating this on local news. Feel free to google.

So many people are simply wired to be instinctively contrarian. It's so interesting to watch.

We haven’t had many 100+ degree days though. I get the humidity is miserable, but when it gets that hot AND it’s humid, it’s even worse.

Yes it’s rained a ton and I feel bad for those who have dealt with flooding, but otherwise the temp hasn’t been different than usual.

We had drought conditions for the last couple years. And suddenly people are worried about too much water.

It’s been more humid than usual, but not as hot. Much more rainfall.

I’ve lived here for 14 years and I free. I don’t know why people have this amnesia about summer here. It’s ALWAYS hot and sticky with an afternoon storm . The one summer I actively recall being vastly different was 2013 because it rained CONSTANTLY. I had a 3 year old and we could never go to the pool. Besides that and the summer with the derecho, none of these summers are outside the norm.

25 years here. Disagree. We’d have this kind of weather days. But it was days. Never for this long. Most of the summer was pretty bearable.

NP - Source: early morning runner who religiously checks the dew point pre-run and it's been bad. Also confirmed with actual reports as stated above.

And cue the poster who's going to remind everybody that DC was "built on a swamp." Snort

This summer IS worse.

“National Weather Service reports indicate July has featured twice the normal number of floods across the country, and the agency has issued flood watches in record numbers for the D.C. area.”

Issuing isn't the same as floods. This summer IS wetter. Is that worse?

What are you talking about? We have only had 2 days in the last 3-4 weeks where the heat index hit below 100.

Yes it is and I guess you missed all the articles recently published on the subject.

Even since that first Trump presidency the weather has been ruined. Did Trump steal the weather for his golf courses?

What?! No!

I grew up here. DC summers have always been hot.

I remember 2015-2016 well- my kids did a lot of outdoor soccer camps where the studs in their cleats melted on the turf because it was 101 (w/ feel like temps of 117 degrees).

It’s why we always go to Maine or San Diego for summer vacations. Mid Atlantic and south way too hot.

I have despised DC summers my entire adult life - as a kid/teen it didn’t bother me.

I get reverse seasonal depression. I definitely am living half the year somewhere cooler when I retire in 5 years.
