No they don't. |
The summers do feel more tropical and I'd agree the average humidity has picked up a notch. It fits the pattern of the weather patterns moving northwards. But at the same time, nothing we're experiencing is unusual or unique for the DMV. I grew up in Maryland and my father was never not complaining about humidity every year. We're just getting more of the humid days and less of the dry warm days.
Each summer is always a bit different. One summer a few years ago was very dry and pleasantly hot the whole summer with minimal rain or humidity. Then the next summer was humid most of the time. Either way, it's never been California weather around here. |
I've been in this area 50 years and it used to be beautiful weather in the beginning of September. Now it's hot til Halloween. |
Yes! I remember this as well as I had just moved to DC and all it did in August 2018 seemingly was RAIN RAIN RAIN. |
2011 was worse than 2012. Remember the “sweat ceiling” (a play on the Debt Ceiling debacle at the time that led to sequestration). The difference this year is the consistency. Just relentless humidity. We will finally get a break this week, though. |
It’s great that you’re free. I’m sure your ex was a real pain. But what’s that got to do with the weather? |
Ha! It wouldn’t surprise me if he did! He’s such a schmuck!! |
I actually tried to correct it to I agree in a different post one second later and it got deleted because probably it appeared like I was sock puppeting, c’est la vie or whatever 😎 |
2012 had 8 100+ degree days. That's not heat index, but air temps. The evenings never cooled off. With the break this week, we will be certain to have a thread about the unusual coolness in the middle of summer. |
