I don’t get it. Restrictive and dumb in emergencies

How is it more restrictive than pants? or dumb in emegencies?

Unless I am working out or participating in actual sport, I only wear dresses and skirts even when traveling. Never had an issue.

Same. I also only wear dresses and skirts. I think shorts are too casual for playing tourist in most big cities, particularly in Europe. But pants are too hot often. I get a lot of compliments on my outfits and look pulled together in dresses.

Hideous!!!

Do you even know what a skort is?
They look exactly like a skirt and you don't even know it's a skort unless you pull it up enough to see the undershorts.

Oh I like that. I’m tempered to get it for work. Feel like you could wear it into fall with boots.

DP. Agree. It's really really cute; but seems a bit more dressy than summer tourist comfortable.

I also wear skorts all spring and summer. Jeans/pants are too hot and far less comfortable. Leggings are comfortable but too hot. I'm old and overweight and can't find comfortable casual summer dresses that look good on me; so I do the skorts. The pockets are extremely practical and allow me to go for a walk or run errands without carrying an annoying purse. They're very comfortable - if you get ones with longer undershort length so they don't ride up. And most of them are perfect for a casual evening out or other events.

The "willow poplin maxi skirt" from free people might fit -- it's good for casual settings but is cool enough to dress up a little. I get constant compliments every time I wear it.

Feels like one too. I frequent athleta and love their clothes but this is not it.

I took a skirt similar to the one below to Europe (South of France in October—so not so different in temp from Denmark in August):

My skirt was dark gray and slightly longer but similar fabric and shape, and it was just find for walking around, etc.

I ended up getting a midi sundress from wear pact and then just put a top or sweater over it for cooler nights or evens. It would look cute with one of those open weave cropped sweaters over it, or a jacket. During the day, I put one of those cotton gauze shirts on over it and knotted it at the waist.

I just got this for a trip to copenhagen and stockholm, leaving next week - I'll report back!
