I Got My Car Impounded

You know you can go to a 24-hr emissions testing kiosk anytime, right? There really is no excuse.

Now you got more time constraints bwahaha.
You could have got emissions inspection.

Well, take the time to figure it out quickly so you don't have to pay for high daily storage fees.

I've got $10 on OP being a Maryland driver.

Oh this is 100% a Maryland driver. Everything is everyone's fault and they're full of excuses.
*Late to work
*Made in Illegal u-turn
*3+ months late on emissions and inspections tests
*Then asks: "Can he really give me a ticket for this?"

It's hard to belive people live like this with this type of mentality. Scary really.

Which state was it OP? This doesn’t sound right to me for police to impound a car for just recently expired registration. Did you have something else going on? Warrants? DUI?

The lack of accountability is astounding. What did you tell your job? They should fire you since clearly you're not at all reliable, trustworthy or responsible.

It certainly seems very harsh, but I don't know the law on this.

Whether this officer over-reached or not, hopefully you will make sure to have nothing outstanding in the future, in case you get pulled over.

Now imagine if you'd been an immigrant. You'd be stuck sleeping on the floor sharing a toilet with 50 other people, awaiting deportation.

Your registration is three months past due? And you had a moving violation?

Yeah.

Must be Maryland. In Virginia you can’t be even stopped for less than 4 months expired tags

What really astounding is how many hall monitors are here

I was late for work and saw the green light and took the risk.

A cop pulled me over & cited me for it.
I am also three mos. past current registration date since I haven’t taken it in to emissions yet due to time constraints mostly.

The cop impounded my vehicle + I ended up having to take an Uber to work.

Is this enough to get impounded?

I'd think so. You do realize every brain surgeon, every professional athlete, every senator, every CEO, every spy - even James Bond - has to keep their registration and emissions tests up to date. Somehow they manage.

You're being a flake in life. It catches up to everyone eventually. And how is the stress of driving without registration for three months even worth the stress that entails?

Yes, and they're massive hypocrites. The minute they get unfair treatment anywhere (at the grocery store, their kid's school, anywhere at all), they come on here to create whiny poor-me threads. But they absolutely LOVE to dump on others for doing the same. Rules for thee but not for me.

Get a time management coach.

Negligent on two things - emissions and registration.

And negligent on getting to work on time and negligent on obeying the traffic signs. OP is a hot mess.

OP wasn't stopped for the expired tags it was the illegal U-turn. The expired tags then became part of the problem...
