I Got My Car Impounded

Anonymous
Yesterday I made an illegal U-turn, totally my fault 🤦🏻‍♂️- - I shouldn’t have done it.
I was late for work and saw the green light and took the risk.

A cop pulled me over & cited me for it.
I am also three mos. past current registration date since I haven’t taken it in to emissions yet due to time constraints mostly.

The cop impounded my vehicle + I ended up having to take an Uber to work.

Is this enough to get impounded?

Apparently.

Are you asking if the cop made a mistake and you should go to court?

Clearly with this cop, yesterday, it was enough to get impounded. You told us that your car is impounded.

I wouldn't have thought so, but here you are.

Nobody cares about your 90 days of time constraints. Nobody.

You were late for work and have been negligent of something for three months?

Get a time management coach.

Negligent on two things - emissions and registration.

Yes, as your car was impounded. If you want to waste even more time in court challenging this, you can, but if I were you I’d use it as a sign to get your life together.

Clearly it was. You obviously have no regard for the law. Get your car registered and get it out.

Abiding by the law is not always convenient, but it's also not optional. You need to begin setting your priorities accordingly.

Yes your car was towed because it’s not registered. You can’t drive an unregistered vehicle on a public street.
You gambled and lost. Time to pay up.

Emissions tests are so stupid in this day and age. Nobody's driving beaters.

Not op. I used to see traffic stops where they checked for registration and inspections and never saw them take a car. The driver was given a ticket. I'd bet op had unpaid tickets in addition to everything else and that tipped the scale.

One of my coworkers at a job downtown constantly got tickets and never paid them. Her car was booted at least 3 times in the time I worked with her and every time she admitted she had numerous unpaid tickets but was furious that her car was booted. What did she think was going to happen?
