Awful. Just thinking about his family and how devastating this must feel. He was just starting out.
Years ago I lived at 9th and P, on the other side of the convention center, and that area was really dicy then. I am sad to hear it's still so bad. I had thought it would have improved by now. |
Horrible and just so sad. |
Blaming Trump for violence in the black community š |
Not at all. |
Just demoralizing. I bet his family was so proud of him too. ![]() |
This is awful š |
Didnāt they tear that down? |
Drugs and gangs, has not changed. RIP to the young man. https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/07/25/shootings-dc-shaw-violence/ |
Yes but they moved the residents back in. https://www.sursumcordaresidents.com/ |
Horrible. They really havenāt been able to make a dent in that neighborhood. |
Thatās not even the same location. |
People get fooled in DC by not knowing really bad areas are adjacent to commercial/gentrified areas. Like the Benning Rd Starburst is really close to places where the people probably have some vague idea that āAnacostiaā or āover the riverā is where the bad stuff happens. We recently had a bad experience at Rosedale Pool and I checked the crime maps and realized that basically every pool over the river is safer. |
I think the original Sursum Corda was off North Cap, north of Union Station. |
What a devastating tragedy. That poor man and his family. |
Yes. Someone else was shot near the Mt Vernon metro station. |
