Do you know someone who farms their kid out more than normal people?

Anonymous
Yep, I know quite a few!

All I can say is that some moms do it better than others. A lot depends on the nanny.

There ARE parents that do this. Why is it so hard for PP to believe? OP is not judging, just asking how common it is.

So nobody cares to enlighten those of us not in the know about SACC? What the heck is it?
Anonymous
Are some parents that lazy and/or self absorbed and/or selfish?

Also curious to know what SACC is....

Wow, this many people also looking to farm out their kids? Doesn't work that way. No shame, huh?

SACC is a before and after school care program in Fairfax County in VA. The parents have to be working a certain number of hours per week in order to be able to use it.

Therefore, there is no way 2 parents could not be working and have kids in SACC. Therefore, the post must be made up or OP doesn't have his/her facts straight.

SACC = School Age Child Care

Would you like me to tell you that you are a better parent than they are?

and "Ja Wohl" is the correct spelling.

Try "Jawohl". That's the correct spelling in this case. "Ja wohl" has a slightly different meaning.

My sister lives about 5 minutes from my mom. She has my mom do pick ups at school about 3-4 times a week because she wants to go to the gym after work. Some nights, she has her son spend the night during the week, because it's easier for her to get ready in the morning without having to worry about getting him ready/drop off at school. I'd say my nephew spends the night about 2 times a week, on average, sometimes more. On weekends he will sometimes spend the whole day there. My mom loves it. It is not something I would choose to do, but it works for them.

This has all been terribly entertaining and I appreciate the almost-immediate invocation of Godwin's Law.

However, can I invoke as well the Dahmer Corollary -- you never really know what is going on in someone else's home? Perhaps it is really for the best that some of these families are "farming out" their children. Either because they have psychological, physical, addiction or some sort of other problem that is completely overwhelming them. What's it to you anyway?
