+1 2/3 of the board agreeing to suspend the rules and not allow for any new amendments or debates on the budget before the vote didn’t help. Bad situation. |
Union leaders and negotiators look out for union leaders and negotiators. Just wait. It will get worse. They do not look out for teachers. They begin that way, but they also become like politcos. |
I'm a fed and this kind of zero sum game thinking it ridiculous and toxic. The teachers absolutely are underpaid and I see absolutely no reason why me not getting a raise change means anything about their pay. |
| With the larger class sizes, there is a chance many secondary teachers will have greater than 150 students. There is a sliding scale for additional pay once you go over 150. |
Nobody cares. It’s not about you this time. |
Never said they don't deserve it. Just saying 6% is a bit extravagant and tone deaf considering the current times. |
Feel free to become a teacher if you think it's so much better. |
You are complaining about a very, very small group of people. |
| I'd rather my kid have a qualified teacher and a large class size than some RIFed Fed who doesn't give a shit babysitting a smaller group of kids and quitting halfway through the year. |
Do you mean the current times where teachers are completely disrespected by parents AND many students? Those times? |
The two are not related. |
This forum is always telling teachers who complain to quit their jobs, parents can do that too if they are unhappy at their jobs. |
Sure they are. |
They're underpaid, it should be more. |
| Can’t find the new pay scales? |
