How’s that? |
Why does Trump even care about this? I guess because entertainment is one of the Christian Dominionist "Seven Mountains"? |
Do you understand: this will not make it cheaper to film in the US. It will just make it more expensive to film in Ireland. Who do you think that helps? Do you think that leads to more of anything you want - or just less film and TV being made? |
Where would Dune or Lord of the Rings been filmed? |
What will happen to all my Netflix consumption. I love all the South Korean doomsday apocalypse movies. |
How about we stop all this stupidity with hostile and dishonest terms like "radical leftist elites" to begin with?
That said, it's stupid that the only thing Trump seems to know anymore is "tariff" and now he's like a brain damaged man with a hammer looking for nails. |
It’s interesting that even as Trump points out the possibility of using “all sorts of incentives “ to motivate people, he resorts to threatening an unenforceable “stick” of financial punishments that likely won’t achieve whatever goals he’s imagining. Maybe for him it’s the threats that are the point?

Is there no land between the US and Ireland? Does Adam Scott remember why Hollywood was founded in Los Angeles in the first place? It wasn't for the urban amenities. |
There is too much greed and overcharging in the US. Starting with real estate costs. Fix that and a lot of things will return. |
Just 1,356 more days until this complete moron is out of office. Every day we get a little bit closer... |
LOTR was made by a NZ director! Why in the world shouldn't it have been made in NZ? |
It’s an attack on the first amendment. |
OMG, yes. Also, WTH doesn’t Fox lower their prices????? This is the will of greedy business owners, so do Bezos and Zuckerberg and the Fox head need such massive payouts? We don’t need government to intervene, unless they finally wake yo and TAX these greedy owners. Boycott them all! |

It's cheaper to film outside of the US because other countries have lax laws re: labor. It's all union here in the US and they have strict terms on hours and standards. Those don't exist outside of the US. It's the same reason why the US will never bring manufacturing back here: safety & regulations make it cost prohibitive. Plus, the US doesn't give out as many filming incentives as other countries. |
