I'll cop to have worn the same dress to most weddings I've been to in the last ten years. It's breathable and good for warm weather and doesn't wrinkle in transit. |
I don’t, because my HHI is not high, but if it were I’d think $600 for a dress is not unreasonable in 2025. I feel like I spent $200ish on wedding guest dresses when I was in my late 20s/30s (which was 20 years ago!). |
+1 $500-600 would be ok in my view but I try to buy dresses I would wear again (so appropriate for the event but somewhat versatile). |
| I wouldn't spend that much on any dress, and our HHI is $430 |
| Italian here. I would avoid frilly or very “feminine” dresses if that makes sense. I would lean more towards a Giorgio Armani, simple but elegant style. That said, I went to a daytime wedding full of Italians last year and found a cute dress at Sachin and Babi. |

This one is really pretty! |
Polyester is so tacky |
| I need these often and I find them at Zara, ASOS, and Anthropologie. |
It’s hard to find a dress that’s NOT polyester unless you’re ok with linen. I’ve tried. I WANT my dress to breathe. |
There are still silk dresses out there, but they're harder to find, and often more expensive. |
