Need a dress for a summer garden wedding

Anonymous

Going to a summer daytime wedding with a stylish and sophisticated crowd, reception in a garden, would love a stylish dress that is sort of statement-y but not over the top. I don't want to look plain but I also don't want to look ridiculous. I have tried a bunch of dresses and none are quite right. The crowd will be mostly European.

Help me find a dress! What would you wear?

What sort of European? I can promise you the women at an Eastern European wedding will be dressed sexier than their Western European counterparts. (Slavic weddings are something else!)

What size do you wear? What body parts do you want to emphasize or deemphasize?

Budget?

Are you planning to wear high heels or do you plan to wear flats?

I have several Saloni dresses and love them. They run very small, I'm 5'7 and 125 lbs and wear a 6 US 8 UK in them.

I don't know your size, age, or body type, but assuming you're a standard women's 0-12 I'd look at:

I'd go for this first:https://www.saksfifthavenue.com/product/aidan-mattox-floral-jacquard-gown-0400022307953.html?dwvar_0400022307953_color=BLUE%20MULTI

This could be cute with a red or pink pashmina for the evening: https://www.saksfifthavenue.com/product/ml-monique-lhuillier-suzette-abstract-satin-maxi-dress-0400021829424.html?dwvar_0400021829424_color=STAR%20GAZING%20LILLIES

Or this: https://www.saksfifthavenue.com/product/amur-neve-pleated-chiffon-v-neck-maxi-dress-0400021973280.html?dwvar_0400021973280_color=PEBBLE%20BEACH

This is pushing it with the bustier: https://www.saksfifthavenue.com/product/dress-the-population-kai-embellished-bustier-body-con-gown-0400021986026.html?dwvar_0400021986026_size=Small&dwvar_0400021986026_color=CAPRI+MULTI

Whatever you feel will look nice on you and make you happy, OP. Every wedding is different.

I got married in my home country in western Europe in September, so the weather was still summery. Female guests came in silk summer dresses with colorful patterns, older female guests came in very proper little jackets and skirts, and they all wore pumps and hats. Big hats.

It was an afternoon-evening wedding at the family castle. There was a horse-drawn carriage. The kids wore fancy dresses or suits and were very happy that the horses pooped right in front of the entrance staircase. My mother wore a very elegant flowy pant suit with frilly blouse and matching hat. She and her brother usually walk about the stables in old jeans to muck out, so it was nice to see her dressed up. No one had overtly sexy outfits.

Did you miss the part that it's a DAYTIME WEDDING? NONE of these would be appropriate.

There's no rule that says you can't wear a long dress to a daytime wedding. The middle two are especially appropriate for a daytime garden wedding, assuming this wedding isn't at a picnic pavilion in Kansas (which being DCUM, I would assume it is not).

Not OP. Do people really spend $500+ on dresses for an occasion like this? Our HHI is high but I still max out at about $250 for dresses. Maybe I am too cheap? I like some of those Saks and NM dresses but I never even look at those type dresses because of the expense.

Thanks all! These are great
Size 10-12, 45 yo
Most attendees will be French or Italian-
It’s in Italy in early June
Yes I think more formal than a daytime wedding here-
