What is going to happen to the RTO?

Technology has defeated those jobs.

This is false, and you repeating it on every telework thread does not make it any more true. It does make you sound like you've never held an office job, though.

I talk to my doctor over the phone for a telehealth appointment: does that mean we get rid of doctors? Use doctors in India? No.

It's pretty funny to see that so much of this was much ado about nothing. I give it until the end of the fiscal year. Again, agency dependant.

Which agencies? I just checked fed news and people seem to think a rollback of rto is delusional.

It isn't about nothing.

It is about gas lighting and changing the narrative while they do something else horrifying.

I wouldn’t bet on that. Getting people to leave was a main reason to implement this change.

Well sometimes the work needs to get done and if everyone needs a full day of leave everytime their kid needs a teeth cleaning not much is getting done.

Eh, I have no problem letting agencies experience the natural consequences of their decisions.
I am glad the option is coming back for people who can't spare the sick leave, though.

OP here. Asking because traffic is unmanageable.

This is really dumb. No my job cannot be outsourced. It could be eliminated but that would cause significant harm to the stability of our financial markets. Fair to say this administration doesn’t care much about that.

You dont have to name the agency but what specifically are you seeing rolled back? The most I have heard about are some agencies allowing ad hoc TW. If anything my agency is doubling down and restricting ad hoc even more.

Exactly. So many people are having to take full days of sick leave for basic appts. Most of the people in my office commute an hour+ each way, they aren’t coming in for 3-4 hours. It’s common sense.

God please, I’m dying here. Mainly because I’m the only idiot coming in. Seems like everyone else has sprung a reason for a deferral or a new RA.

I think the average fed age is 52+ so of course tons of RAs are being filed. GenZ didn't really get into the government.

How can someone be so ignorant?

We’re not going to out ourselves but it was on Fed News earlier.

And if people are apparently still getting work done while teleworking with a RA, why can’t the rest of us telework?

What things are changing? To me the agency is much less important than the changes.

Thanks. That’s great news for you! Really hoping it follows for other agencies but hard to tell if it will.
