For a good comms message, look at what people are saying in town halls across America. While decisions are being made in a gold Trump tower, regular families are struggling to pay for groceries. These tariffs will make food more expensive TODAY. People are losing their jobs and farms, what are you doing to get them help TODAY while you attempt to bring back manufacturing to America longterm? |

And maybe we deserve it if this is how poorly we understand how to talk to people! I feel so incredibly angry about this. Not that it's the thing that'll ruin our midterm chances or anything - but just how incredibly BAD our side is at this, which is arguably the most important part of politics: being able to talk to people. Their messaging is TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. There is no other way to put it. They don't know what to say and when and on what on forum or channel.
Today they could have a simple struck a message of "We hear you and we agree that what this administration is doing is terrible and will hurt Americans more than help. There are ways to help Americans be successful and win at jobs, but this is not it. Point finger at Administration include GOP congress. Period. Nothing else. Now is not the time to explain how they are different or what their plan is because no one is listening to that. Now is the time to direct attention how you want it. |
