+1 It was a tough loss in the final but a good overall season for Mclean HS soccer. |
| What is the level of player that can realistically make the JV team at an affluent school like McLean? ECNL players only? Do RL players have a chance? NCSL players? It’s so discouraging. |
| Same at WL in Arlington. So many kids. |
There should be freshman teams or JV1 JV2. If Football can accomodate Freshman, JV and Varsity teams why can't they for soccer? At a minimum, because there is so much demand, some schools should offer after school pick-up soccer or intramurals within their own schools. Set up pug goals and let the kids go at.it. |
| They don't usually take 30 kids per team. |
They generally take 26-28 kids in both JV and V, which essentially equates to JV1/2 and V1/2. Some kids literally never see the field. One DS has always been a starter, one DS almost never saw the field. Both very much enjoyed being a part of the team. |
| 175 boys at Westfield. |
|
great that its so popular, unfortunate that there is no way to accommodate even half.
Is selection skill based, grade based, and then with a hefty dose of politics and inside track. |
Our largw schools rosters only had 23 per jv and varsity last year !
|
| So how good does a kid have to be to make JV? Ecnl-rl? Ncsl division 1? |
Often ECNL. But there are exceptions. |
| ECNL for *JV* ? Seriously? |
| This is pretty normal. Same thing happened in MD is the fall. Schools are too big! |
"nobody cares" but yet... you are here posting... lol... |
Is the size of the school the issue or the fact many kids who can bearly make a Rec team are trying out? |
