| That's what DS told me on Monday evening. Wow, that's a lot, and more than 2 out of 3 kids will not make the team. I didn't realize how competitive it was until he told me. DS made the varsity team last year. |
| VA HS Soccer dad has checked back in....Newsflash nobody cares about HS soccer champ! |
| That's how every team tryout is at our middle school. That's what happens when a school is too big. Meanwhile, the schools they play against can barely put a team together because they are so small. That's what happens when you let the whole area go to one school without boundaries. |
I know it’s beneath your future professional player but plenty of us do |
high school soccer, like all other high school sports, are fun and part of the high school experience. just stop |
| Why not have more teams? Obviously kids want to play. |
Where would they play? Most HSes in FCPS only have one football field, and that field has to accommodate both boys and girls JV and varsity lacrosse and soccer in the spring. |

Kudos to McLean for making it into the Virginia championship game last season. Glad it has inspired so many boys to try and make the team.
|
| heard same numbers from other HS in Fairfax so it is not only in Mclean |
| Same with Yorktown high school in Arlington |
Because that's not how things work. Everybody doesn't get to play just because they "want" to |
| And we wonder why VA soccer is not better... |
No its not The top players play basketball, football, run track Top soccer players don't play hs |
??? Did you even read what the PP wrote? Not everything about youth soccer involves racing to sit at the end of a college bench. |
Good for your kids if they end up to be future soccer stars. My kids just want to make varsity team and have fun with his HS experience. |
