Trump dictator-ing NYC congestion pricing

Running for Election Trump: we will leave most decisions up to the states.

Elected Trump: THE STATES WILL DO WHAT I SAY OR ELSE. OR. ELSE.

It was in his dumb post when he announced that congestion pricing was dead. Thanks to him. Long live the king, he ended.

Congestion pricing has been great. On the rare time I need to drive to downtown Manhattan it used to take me about 1.5hrs, I’ve done it twice since and it only took 30min!

It was a pleasure to spend the $9! I was surprised so little would make such a difference. And a friend of mine that lives in the zone is happy as well, quality of life is up with less cars on the street.

You are joking right? Working people not at peace. Rich maybe but not working. people.

Good job Dad. Pick a big fight with the city where your son lives.

Exactly, just another expensed expense to the end consumer. And reason why businesses and family’s leave New York.

Exactly, NYC is known for its lack of business and empty streets. Now name me a US city with more businesses or families?

It’s too expensive nobody wants to live there, all the demand is in rural Arkansas where driving is free…lol

What working people? The ones who are commuting in from the outer burbs in their cars by themselves? Because it’s not the tradespeople passing it on or the delivery guys who are getting their routes done more quickly and cheaply.

Yeah, I don’t think New Yorkers care about the hardships of the B&T crowd. You want to use their roads, contribute some.

Spoken like someone who does not appreciate that 9 dollars daily is a lot to many people

Ask the neighbors if they like it and no the trade people do not like it. My family are trades people and no they are not simply passing on this is crazy.

Between the long $$$$$ cab and uber rides due to lack of driving lanes, the cannabis stench everywhere, increased crime, doubled taxes and surcharges on everything… why would you choose to visit NYC for work trips or leisure?

Concur.

We lean towards zooms w Ny offices now, even for diligence sessions.
Philly, Boston, providence, DC, Chicago, Charlotte, St. Louis, Toronto are all better trips and better value for a vacation or conference locale.
