Oh no they know and this is their plan. MAGA is cheering them on.

They know exactly what is going to happen to the local economy, having a factory close in a company town is a well trodden path. They just don’t care.

+1

This isn’t an unforeseen consequence. This is the plan.

Respectfully, DOGE doesn't understand govermenting.

Hell, DOGE doesn’t understand the source code they’re messing up either, but they operate on pure entitlement nonetheless.

Why would maga be posting here?

As a federal contractor, however, I am getting out ASAP.

Where are you going? It’s the DMV and federal contractors tend to do industry specific work for high wages than other industries or non-contractor work.

If you are “getting out”, I hope you have a backup plan.

If it's statutorily required, it is statutorily required. Cite statutes.

DOGE may think statutes are worthless but others know better.

I think the idea is to get rid of as many statutes as possible... We'll see if this happens and we are all doomed

They don't. They are trying to run government like a private corporation. You are going through a major acquisition and a re-org with mass layoffs that usually follow, happens all the time in private industry. Also the focus is discovering fraud and money that doesn't even end up in DC anyway, a lot more of it just disappears..

One thing for sure entire country cannot be run like a corporation, citizens aren't employees.. So, at some point this may backfire.

Yes, in fact, I do: I have had multiple interviews this week and a final round interview scheduled for Friday. Hopefully headed to a non contractor role. I have a skill set that is fortunately transferable (think accountant working as a contractor doing financial statements - internal accountant at a private company).

The standard 8(a) firms may not get work, and may be avoided altogether. However, the ANC, NHO, and tribal 8(a) vendors will continue to receive a ton of work.

Tell them this. And then tell everyone else, including your supervisor, your division leader, your department leader or interim/acting leader. Then tell your congresspeople and senators. Tweet them, so everyone will see it. Then tell WaPo and NYT. Tell them immediately.

Tell them in writing. Make sure to say the word DOGE so it’s easy to FOIA too.

Bless your heart. FOIA.

Under normal circumstances it takes forever to get a response. This crew will just ignore those requests.

Probably. But once they’re out of office, it’ll make it easier to gather evidence. It could even help sooner if dems take back either chamber of Congress and start issuing subpoenas.

Why would that be? (Genuinely curious; I have a former colleague at a firm like this who seems to be doing well / has tried to recruit me but I’m nervous about the SB aspect).
