| Up at 5, leave for work at 5:45. I try to get to bed at 9:30, but it's usually more like 10-10:30. |

Asleep between 11:15 and 11:45, up at 6:45 on week days. Weekends we may sleep until 7:15-7:30 depending on child. This is not enough for me, I need 7.5-8 hours consistently. I get caught up in stupid shit (like now). Off to bed right now...
For the person who is suffering from insomnia, you are in bed a long time. I realize you probably sleep late and go to bed early because of the gap where you are not sleeping, but I would try to get up early and go to bed a little later and see if that helps? A real simple mindful meditation might work to. I am NOT a meditator but just forcing yourself to be aware of your breathing and yourself for a few minutes (google it and you can get some quick tips, it's not hard at all and you don't need to be an expert). Sorry if you have heard all this before and I'm telling you stuff you know...I struggled with insomnia for years off and on, starting sophomore year in college. It's better now because I'm so tired. But a few nights a week I wake up, know I'm going to have trouble going back, and go downstairs on the couch (in the summer especially, it's cooler downstairs). For some reason I go right back to sleep for a couple of hours, wake up, and head upstairs again and go back to sleep. My husband thinks this is such a bad habit but sometimes in my own bed, once I'm up I'm up. I would rather just sleep than deal with breaking the habit. I look back to the time before I had kids, and realize I was probably going to bed too early and maybe getting too much sleep. Not the case now though! |

10:30-5AM....Gym by 5:30 out the door work work 8:45AM (when I don't WFH)
Even on weekends I wake up at 5AM with the baby (sucks!) DH takes one weekend morning, his was today and I slept until 8AM....decadent! |

to bed anywhere between 830pm and 1am depending on (1) how tired I am, (2) how tired DW is, and (3) when DD actually goes to sleep. DD is impossible to actually get down but once asleep will stay asleep. |

] Wow - that's only 5 hours! Do you then go to work, or do you stay home and hopefully catch up on sleep a bit? Or do you just not need that much sleep? I would be exhausted running on 5 hours every night. |
