Indiana vs Penn State vs Ohio State

Avoid P$U. It’s a cult school. Big stigma.

Give it a rest.

Not as a "Spring Scholar" where he misses out on friend groups crystallizing during fall freshman year and has to be the new kid in January. These spring admit programs are bull crap. Just a way for colleges to suck in more tuition dollars while preventing low-stat and test-optional admits from dragging down their freshman class profile.

Even so, the peers will still be a step above the state schools. It is not like a Spring program is a different school. AND per OP, he is not a direct admit to Kelley or Smeal, which makes Tulane the obvious choice if it was my kid.

That's bull crap. Tulane takes anyone with a pulse and a fat bank account in the ED round.

Getting into Kelly isn’t a given. Need a 3.0. Can’t get a b minus. Lot of pressure on a kid. Smeal is also not a given. Need a 3.5 for Finance.

My pick would be Tulane or OSU.

I would look at Butler University (Indianapolis), University of Tulsa (There's massive amount of start-money in Oklahoma, much more than Indiana) University of Oklahoma, or University of Arkansas.

This has to be a joke right? OP mentioned 4 good schools that are miles ahead of these…. What is your agenda here?

And these are the kids you would want funding your startup anyway right? So yes, Tulane is the obvious choice assuming tuition is not a problem and if there is no direct admit to Kelley.

If he was a direct admit then Kelley for sure. If he is not, which is the case now, then Tulane is the one.

You can not be this stupid

Where do you want your kid living after college and getting a job?

OIS tuition to any of those is just stupid

First of all, why the aggressive comment?
Second, It looks like you missed the OP’s point here. Kid wants to be an entrepreneur….we dont know where they are from, so does a job location really matter here? Clearly they dont care about OOS tuition otherwise they would not have applied to Tulane….so why even bring this up? This was not the OP question….try again.

And Yet, Tulane has produced more Rhodes Scholars than Ohio State and Penn State combined and 1 more than Indiana.
Considering the size of the school vs those 3, it looks like those “PULSELESS Kids with a Fat bank Acct” are fairing a lot better than those Big 10 State school kids…

I just looked it up. That is actually quite impressive given the school size. 18 Rhodes Scholars for Tulane vs 9 for Ohio State and 2 for PSU.

My daughter is at Ross and Kelley was her second choice. IU is a gorgeous campus. Plenty of wealthy OOS students.

And yet academic powerhouses such as the University of Kansas and West Virginia University have produced more Rhodes Scholars than Tulane.

No question Kelley should be the choice IF kid was a direct admit. OP made it clear that he is not. I do not recommend kids go to IU and then hoping to get in Kelley. All it takes is one B- and the dream is over. Why risk it if you Tulane in the bag? Makes no sense.
