My trainer doesn’t think this is a big deal. WWYD?!

This is theft, pure and simple and you have a shameless thief in your hands. Make sure you have screen shots/emails etc saved. Get everything together, then go to management and tell them you expect all sessions reimbursed in full immediately.

I’d go to management but I’d also have a letter detailing it all. The time and date of each instance of fraud, the time and date of texts and content (screenshots). You’ll be taken more seriously. I can’t believe you aren’t losing your mind over this it’s so so bad.

Yes I swipe at entrance. They have an app where you can see all your swiped in dates. This is where I found all the discrepancies. You can also see your personal training dates and times. I checked August thru December verifying my actual sessions vs what he logged. Like I said, he started off slow but hit me hard Nov and Dec draining my acct. There was 1 time where he put me training with him at 930am AND 130pm on the same day! Lol
Plus I screenshot his text messages admitting it.

My DH is ready to go down there and go nuts trust me. I told him I’m handling it. I’ve written down everything. I think because this trainer is acting like it’s not a big deal is why I’m kind of in a delayed response.

Sounds like he’s a drug addict or something like that and did whatever he could to get more money. You need to tell them asap.

And think about it this way - maybe he’s stealing from other people too. Maybe people who can’t afford to lose. Maybe he even stole money in person, like from someone’s wallet. Who knows. He has to know that he’d be found out eventually so whatever he was stealing was worth it to him at the time.

The trainer is playing you, and hoping he can convince you that it’s not a big deal. He’s probably trying to steal some more money from people quickly in his time remaining there. You should go down there right now and go nuts yourself.

Go to the gym membership OP. And share the gym please. It's completely outrageous and beyond making you whole, the gym should be committed to investigate whether the trainer did this to others and to making sure that this can't happen again.

Did you tell him anything about where you live and expensive things in your house and when you both might not be at home?

He knows I’m wealthy like a lot of his clients.

That would piss me off. During Covid I spent a ton of money on a personal trainer and I got loyalty and free workouts sent to me as a bonus for being a regular customer. I would definitely change trainers in addition to getting my sessions restored.

I’m out of town right now but I called and I’m waiting for the manager to call me back. I was thinking he is probably thinking about grabbing his last paycheck and quitting. I hope they will take my money out of his last paycheck, but I know that wouldn’t be enough.
He told me he lost 2k in the Mike Tyson fight. I thought wth is he doing betting money like that?! Oh boy, I’m just realizing that fight was November 15th and according to my app that’s when he really started stealing my sessions.

Yes. The gym needs to fire him and refund your money. If you want to quit without penalty and have all unpaid sessions refunded, that would be reasonable. They let an employee steal from you for months. They aren’t trustworthy. You could put this all over Yelp with screen shots. You could contact the BBB. If you want out of your contract, you have leverage. This is a rare case where I’d use it.

Fire him.

A trainer wouldn't know this unless you tell them. Maybe consider keeping your mouth shut and finances quiet next time? But definitely absolutely report him. I'd demand he be fired.

He has seen me in the parking lot with my vehicle. Pretty easy to do.
