Does anyone know what is up with Amazon RTO?

That makes no sense as that's not what others are being told.

They gave until September, which is great because hopefully my husband will find another job that pays as much by then. If not, he is prepared for 5 days a week. In other offices they delayed too because there weren’t enough desks for people. But I would not apply if you aren’t willing to go in 5 days a week.

We are in a tech recession, he should get ready to drive.

It's called "field by design" roles.

Stop asking about this! There is no official policy to date and we don't want one because it will be bad. It's a hush hush thing, we are all coffee badging some days, so let's keep it that way...

Then it’s not perrrfect for you. I work with many ex Amazon employees. Dog eat dog culture and most don’t make it to get their initial stock grant. Good luck though!

I did hear rumblings they may be walking it back. Does anyone have any intel?

Amazon can be awful to work for if you have a shit boss…say hello to a PIP if you come back from parental leave.

The supervisor is key but that’s anywhere you work. It’s not alwful with the right team. And, you start with focus first.

Please don’t do that and play games and ruin things for everyone. The official policy was rto starting today.

I'm an L8. This is my policy and I'm well aware of the RTO mandate and what the official stance is. RTO had never been more than badge swipes.

True, but there are more protections from bad bosses if you're unionized and have tenure. DH was there for 7 years, so if he could hack it that long and had good-to-decent performance reviews previously, why put him into focus?

You do realize they will look at other things other than badging right?

My husband had an issue with someone in his team (not Amazon) so he looked at the software system and could see when this person was actually working. IT got involved to check the rest.

I know you sign in from a VPN, they still know and they can figure out if you are at the office or not!

If you have been told to RTO 5 days and you’re playing these types of games be ready for a layoff, PIP, or something else.

No it’s not. My spouse who works not at Amazon but elsewhere is able to check software systems to see when people are working/ what the output is. He only did it once when there was a performance issue but has sat in meetings where data and metrics from multiple teams have come up.

They will start doing more than badge swipes especially when people online keep talking about swiping and leaving. Anything they own or you use that is part of the job assume they can access it.

Sounds fake as the letter my spouse got from a higher up was clear five days, 8 hours. So, my spouse will do it but when the L8 calls or text after hours they will not be responding anymore n you need to fire those people.

Agree, they are looking to fire people. They have checked in the past and will. They are not even offering exemptions as my spouse asked about one due to my medical needs and me being home alone is not a great idea.

Amazon has no union. They fire supervisors and let them go. They could easily let go of this supervisor for not enforcing the rules.
