Yep that poster pretty much nailed it. Summer Fridays products is pretty much the only thing I can add.

She might like a basic sewing machine.

I made a Shutterfly collage of pictures of her with her friends. It was a total surprise and she loved it. It is in her room now.

This year the surprise will be some baking stuff — cookie stamps, etc.

Everything else on her list is the standard mall stuff that most middle school girls are into.

A what?

NP. I too would welcome suggestions for where to buy a bubble name necklace. (Not from the person who said “a what?” though.)

Stylophone. It’s a pocket synthesizer that is fun and unexpected. Very fun to play around on.

Who are these middle schoolers who know all these brands? Mine would not be into any of that except for the electric skateboard and Apple watch.

The same middle schoolers that wouldn’t want an electric skateboard.

Geez, some of you all way more money than we do, and kids with much more expensive taste.

My 11 year old asked for some soft sweaters from the Juniors department at Macy's, leggings from Aerie, jibbitz for her Crocs (everyone in her school wears Crocs & Nike sneakers), a reading light, an Owala water bottle, Hello Kitty things, beading kit, and an iPhone (that she is not getting).

Thanks for the rude and unhelpful response. I asked because I was hoping people would have some interesting sugguestions besides the obvious-- i.e. Lulumon, Brazilian cream, Uggs etc.

Those aren't "obvious" to me and not things my 6th grader would be interested in at all.

I love the parents of 6th graders chiming in like my kid doesn’t even know what these things are, what are you all allowing your kids to have, etc., meanwhile a year from now they will be making the very same suggestions they are judging.

+1. I just think “oh sweet summer child…”

My 4th grader already knows all these brands and it shocked me when she put them on her Xmas list 😭. She learned all this from girls at school.

Mine is getting a Pink Palm Puff hoodie, a Taylor Swift hoodie from the merch store, some Palm Pals stuffed animals, some CDs (she had a CD player in her room and if yours doesn’t have one I think that’s a great gift idea too), some Studio Ghibli books and merch, an angel number necklace, some cute socks that she likes to wear with her Ugg Tasmans (also a good gift idea if yours doesn’t own), a couple board games (Hues and Clues, Guess Who), some Lush bath bombs, some Sanrio stuff, flannel PJ pants (she likes to wear them to school), claw clips, a Taylor Swift Style book, polymer clay and magnets to make clay magnets, and a giant friendship bead kit to stock up on her bracelet making supplies.

I also can’t explain this one but this age is obsessed with Touchland hand sanitizer so she’s getting 2 of those in her stocking

Honestly, not really. I have a slightly older kid and out of a large friend group, only a couple girls are into much of the stuff on this list. They definitely all know about it, but aren’t necessarily interested.
