Wegovy failure

Losing weight is 90% diet. Diet for fat loss exercise for health.

Exercise doesn’t lead to weight loss (it’s good for health); it’s all diet. So many studies say this.

I just lost 40 lb on tirzepatide. You may want to try it. A lot of people have better luck than sema. I am still hoping to lose 30 lb, which I would need to do to be officially out of the “obese” bmi. But I feel a lot better.

+1 My doctor was just telling me that her patients who have not been successful with Wegovy/Ozempic have had good results with Zepbound. Maybe try that?

I'm the PP, and I'll also note that I've lost over 100 pounds using Zepbound.

I bet there are plenty of studies that also say the opposite.

then please cite them because most show that exercise alone will not lead to fat loss. Fat loss is at least 80% diet. Not saying excise doesn't' help some with fat loss, just that diet has a great impact.
You see it on here all the time; people listing all the exercise they do, never once mentioning their diet, and wondering why they can't lose weight.

it is much easier to accidentally consume an extra 200-500 cal a day without even noticing it than it it to burn that many calories through exercise.

Then please find the studies that show that exercise alone will create meaningful fat loss. Everything I can find mentions fat loss through exercise only when also making dietary changes.

I'm sorry op, it is very frustrating. Don't blame yourself too much. The more and more we learn, the more we learn that weight is WAY more complex than people used to think. For example, it probably isn't th exercise. Exercise is fantastic for you, but research is showing it doesn't help you lose weight for any length of time but very short. Your body adjusts and doesn't burn as many calories once it adjusts to you exercising. Depressing, I know. Still great for you but don't blame yourself too much

No, there aren't. Not for meaningful lengths of time. Short term, sure. Super recent article in wapo walks through the science on this:

It’s definitely what you’re eating ans not the exercise. You can lose weight in a bed.

It’s so frustrating to see all of these success stories when it’s just not working for me. I’m a 52 year old menopausal woman with 40 lbs to lose.

Are you on HRT? Dr. Marie Claire Haver, who specializes in menopause, has a study that shows that menopausal women on HRT lost 30% more weight with semiglutide drugs vs menopausal women also taking the weight loss drugs but not on HRT.

I do not overeat but I know my problem is exercise. I get a routine going and then I throw my back out, gain weight while recovering and then when I’m well I work out again, start to lose and then F$&& it all my back goes out again and I gain weight. I am not doing difficult stuff!!! Yoga and stretching and walking - not even running!!! I swear the chiro made me worse and just slowed down my recovery.

Menopause probably contributes too bec I started her about the same time.

Argh. I am so frustrated. Just venting and watching the world around me get thinner.

OP, this isn't true. If you really believe it, you need to see a psychiatrist. I've had a lifelong battle with weight and diet. I know how hard it is. You're definitely eating too much to lose weight. They could put you in a coma and control your diet, and you would lose weight without moving at all.

What do you weigh?

It’s time to face facts.
You cannot out train a bad diet.
You cannot outwork a calorie surplus.
I am a PP who has lost 30 lbs on Tirzepatide I never only been able to do it because I’ve been at a consistent calorie deficit for four months. Yes the medication is helping me get to my goal, but I’m also tracking and weighing all of my food and working out daily. OP, it is not a bad thing to take. This is a great opportunity to spend a few days tracking your food and see how many calories you’re really consuming. Calculate your TDEE online and find your calorie deficit. Try eating at that for one month and see if things change a little bit for you.

And couch to 5k doesn't work for most overweight/older people. Not everyone is born to run.

Instead, start with yoga, pilates, barre and incline treadmill walks. Do this for 2 weeks, then start working out with weight machines...upper body day, leg day, back day.

But it is good for mental health.
