It’s unfortunate what is happening to Hayfield this season with all the jealous outsiders trying to get in the way of football.

Do you mean the 31 outsiders who transferred in specifically to play football, who displaced real Hayfield players off the team? Yes. It is very unfortunate when adults ruin kids sports.

Where did you get 31 from? Only 14 players were in questioned and all have been cleared.
These kids are very talented and most have a chancee to play D1 in College, why hate on the players and families who are looking for the future of their, otherwise unprivileged, kids.

Old Stats speak for itself: https://www.hayfieldfootball.com/season-results.html

because they are blatant cheaters?

Since your an expert. Did they move into the district or not? Do you hold the same animosity to parents do move within a specific school boundary for academics?

Please take this debate to the other thread

This thread is to discuss the games not cheating, you’ve got a whole 240+ pages of internet yelling to work with

See how the WSHS parent posted about their game and a response was congratulatory for a big victory for the program. That’s what we’re focused on here discussion about the teams and the games.

We even are evaluating if Westfield or Madison, two strong teams might be able to take down hayfield

We are not talking about the recruiting crap.

Take it to the other thread for farts sake!

Christ if you all want to talk about it so much then take over all the other threads with chatter about it too

I think the message you're getting is that there's no serious value in discussing playoffs that have been structured as inherently uncompetitive and tainted due to the macro Hayfield issues. It's akin to seriously discussing WWE results at this point. Sorry (and sorry for the kids still competing) but it's hard to effectively discuss a rigged system.

I think West Springfield was intimidated by the hype and if the play again, the game will be closer.

I don't know . . . we're a West Springfield football family. We have a couple really great players, including an excellent running back, and a fantastic coaching staff, but that game you're referencing was a scrimmage and I'm not sure it's a great indicator.

But, we did lose to South County in our first game of the season and last night we handily defeated them, so maybe we've improved.
I don't think we'll get past Lake Braddock - it will probably end up being up to them as the school to defeat Hayfield if anyone does.

Full disclosure (I started this thread and am a former WSHS teacher)

I am so excited for the program that you won last night. Even if WSHS doesn’t win in the next round that’s such a big monkey to get off the programs back and will certainly build long term confidence. It’s been a long time coming and to take soco (even a meh team) in the playoffs is just awesome.

So please pass along my congratulations to everyone

West Springfield has a chance because they are still alive. Just enjoy the moment and support your team and ignore the haters.

Hayfield is good. I see them getting to championship, but probably not winning the team they face.

The Southern side of the playoff bracket is much tougher than the northern side. Anyone of those southern side teams is capable of winning it.

W&L, Madison, and Westfields are the most capable of beating Hayfield in the semis. Those schools may have some bigger stronger players with a balance of athleticism which could be a problematic matchup for Hayfield. Hayfield got beat by a team that was bigger and stronger.

what do we think of a WL Madison matchoff?

I don't see logically how a team of 25+ assembled all stars from three different states, as well as in bound players, can lose to a team of just in bound players.

I didn’t realize W&L was that good this year! I mean I have no idea

I know Madison has been strong the last 2-3 years, so I’ll defer to them winning in a close one.

They’ll be a game next Friday right? Region final?

I’ve really forgotten the playoff weeks with the re class in the last 2 decades

I went to high school when it was patriot concorde national liberty northern region Va 6AAA so I still think of those terms

WL has Langley tonight - won in the regular season, good game (I think 28-14?), tonight is definitely a toss up. Next week they'd play Madison, who has Westfield tonight. Winner of that one will def be Madison.

If you don’t it’s okay. But remember when Westfield stone bridge and soco all came into existence and how absolutely dominant they were for so many years. Guess we’re getting back to some parity to a degree

W-L beat Langley 20-14.
Anonymous
W&L may beat Madison. If they get focused, either of those teams can beat Hayfield.

Those two teams have an advantage that they can focus on football without a bunch of outside forces trying to stop their run.

Well they are at a huge disadvantage, not having cheated

Respect the OP. They didn’t want to debate any cheating allegations, but the haters just can’t help themselves. Take that to the Fired Hayfield coach thread.
