👏🏼 Our private was 2/3 in ED last year and 0/21 in RD. |
Sorry I thought I made that clear: I heard it from a Northwestern AO this week. I’d rather not say more, in case it identifies me. I’m in Chicago. |
| The schools don’t care. The kids who aren’t applying don’t have competitive test scores. |
Interesting because I think almost 80% of accepted students submitted. |
Among enrolled students, 31% submitted ACT scores. SAT scores were submitted by 47% of applicants, while 22% did not submit either. https://nextadmit.com/blog/northwestern-act-scores/ |
That data is for the fall 2022 enrolled freshman class. |
What private would have 21 kids who didn't get into their ED and could possibly have a shot at NU? Unless you are out of the area and have a huge graduating class, that seems nuts. |
Lots of kids, even at privates, don’t Ed anywhere. |
+2 Lots of unhooked kids don’t have a clear first choice and realize the ED bump at many schools is primarily attributed to hooks. |
| The 3 people I know who got in to NU for 24 did ED and TO. |
| The one person I know who got into NU for 24 did ED with 4.0 uw/1550. |
+2 I know 2 last year at NU who were TO |
DeanJ said UVA ED # is up a little bit but not enough to make a big impact on admissions % |
And UVA is still test optional this cycle. They haven’t announced if they will remain test optional for current juniors |
Interesting to see if ALL selective TO schools will see an ED bounce (might not impact admissions yet) while schools that went back to test required will see an ED drop. How do these kinds of numbers (# applying for ED and what % accepted) affect USNWR rankings? |
