To clear things up for some. They usually have an electric violin with a cord to a small amp speaker on the ground (but the violin isnt really connected). Then they play sound tracks of an electric violin being played and fake as though they are the one playing the song.
I saw these people several times before I realized the gag - after noticing a mismatch between the song and fake playing. I'm sure it dupes a LOT of people who don't think that much about it. Teh guy in McLean will also venture down to the Balducci's sometimes. He also is often there with a wife and child (or two) sitting beside him. It's just another begging scheme. |

Apparently it’s a “nationwide emergency” since 2022.

It’s not just one person. Panhandlers are on every street corner. We have social services to help them. It’s organized crime. So being so naive. |
