RMC then HSC then Roanoke. Emory and Henry left ODAC when it went to D2 but would also put that above Roanoke. |
| I think Elon is the answer to your question |
Get off your high horse, op said mostly Bs from a private. Even today, everyone Davidson accepts from the two private schools my kids attend are not in the top 20 percent of the class. That isn’t a B. Average, but it isn’t more than an A minus. Like many slacs, it loves kids from private schools. |
| Lafayette |
This. My kids’ private sends many kids to Davidson, typically B/B+ with high test scores. ED helps. This is per Naviance, past three years. |
| Denison |
Where is your data to back any of this up? |
Elon is much preppier than Davidson. App State is crunchy like Davidson. Elon is more like U Richmond and W&L. |
Davidson is very preppy. |
| I agree about Elon. |
| Rhodes, Sewanee, Hendrix, Trinity San Antonio, University of Denver, Tulane ED, if you are focused on Southern/Western private schools. |
It hasn’t happened yet - just straight vibes. Roanoke has no brand value and a big gender imbalance. Launching the football team is intended to help correct that. |

I think Davidson moved from regional to national.
This is Davidson’s region so people here say, it’s always been good. Find other regions |
| Richmond? |
Are you open to Canada and non-LACs? McGill would be out due to GPA cut-off, but UBC and U of T could both be options. Maybe Queen's U too? They are large publics though. For LACs, perhaps Skidmore (NY), Macalester (MN), Haverford (PA), Oberlin (OH), Denison (OH)? Focus on LACs that aren't test blind and have him write his essay giving context for his slow false start or late bloom in HS, the ACT shows his potential as well as better grades in junior/senior years.
