Henry meds or Eden and it will be about $4000/yr, which is probably less than you’re spending on all of this other stuff caused by the excess weight. I’ve lost 12 pounds so far and exercising and everything is just easier. I’ve taken up tennis again so expect the weight to keep coming off at a slow but steady rate. Even with the extra 12 pounds I had heel and foot issues.

After you have gone through menopause it’s going to be significantly more difficult to lose weight and especially belly fat. Do it now for your future health. There’s a lot written about how weight/ strength training can really help weight loss. https://www.health.com/fitness/how-to-shed-fat-with-strength-training

OP, I'd also suggest that you try to re-frame your mindset as one looking toward incremental improvement, not a global fix. I'm 45 and recently decided I needed to get my shit together eating and exercise-wise (could feel my body degenerating month by month).

I increased my protein intake A TON and am not hungry, even though I'm eating a lot less. I am doing an hour of cardio and an hour of strength training per week, plus a couple miles of walking every day. I feel a million times better. But it really is a one day at a time thing.

OP, start small. Search YouTube for a beginner 10 minute core workout. MadFit has a great one. Do it once or twice a week until it feels easy, and then find a harder one. Add some walking to your evenings. Cut one junky thing out of your diet.

When these changes are easy and routine, up the ante. Add another exercise, add an unprocessed food to your diet, repeat. Slow changes are long term changes.

Bladder issues are tied to weight - think about it - extra pressure on bladder means less tolerance.

There's tons of research on this but very fast:

I have chronic low back pain and ankle pain, bladder frequency and leakage, and indigestion/heartburn. I am about 40 pounds overweight and carry this weight in my midsection. She believes it's putting pressure on my pelvic floor.
My ultrasounds and a CT scan are clean except for severe lumbar degeneration, which I am guessing my weight is worsening.
I feel hopeless, like I am doomed to suffer until I can somehow shed all this weight which will take time and isn't easy at my age (44) anyway.
My uro-gyno suggested a Botox treatment but this seems scary as well, it can freeze up the bladder and anyway it won't help my constantly aching back.

Help?

While I suppose this is possible, it sounds like the usual "You should lose weight about it" patient-blaming that overweight patients get, especially when they're female. If you want to lose weight, I don't see a problem with it, but I would get at least a second opinion about what may be going on with your bladder.

I'm more overweight than you, and I guarantee my back is worse, and my pelvic floor is fine. I had bladder issues last year that ended up being directly linked to a medication I was taking. Yes, they told me to lose weight about it, too.

I don't understand all these facile comments regarding wegovy. I can't find it and my insurance won't pay for it and I was quoted a price of 1300 per month for it. What useless advice. My doctor also says the no one has any idea what is in the compounded formulas.

Yes, well what this thread proves is that sometimes you have to take doctors and nurses with a huge grain of salt.
