Devin never gave a real answer about why the change of heart. He could have manned up and said, "I got carried away by the expectations of the show to be in love and propose, and when I got back to my real life, I realized that I was not ready." Something like that would have come across as taking responsibility and would have made him date-able in Bach Nation.

Instead, he grabbed what Marcus gave as an excuse and trued to recycle it. Huge fail.

Even Marcus didn't answer the question of "why?"legitimately. It was all very passive --- I couldn't give you what you need/deserve. He never answered with what HE felt or didn't feel or what HE wanted. He turned it all on her. It's a way of saying "it's not you, it's me!" ....but we know the truth is it's you.

RE: making Jenn watch the proposal...that's cruel.

RS and Rachel Recchia were right -- Devin just wanted to win. He sounded sincere to me during the filming (where he was a contestant)...but I guess it was all a farce.

I also think the original crop of men lacked maturity. I never trusted Devon. I thought he was just a shifty character. I think Jenn is a little immature and you cannot always have your own way and be put on a pedestal. She was always about what she wanted and how she felt. It takes two to make a partnership and she was about as shallow and selfish as Sam M.

He is a guy on tv breaking up with a woman. No matter what he said he would be eviscerated, name called, and criticized.

He chose to say little. Less ammo for the haters to work with.

Good for him. I don’t buy into this women are precious flowers who have to be handled with kid gloves and that men don’t have a right to their own feelings and decisions. I have no issue with a guy ending a relationship if it isn’t healthy or right for him, same as a woman can do the same. It doesn’t make him a bad guy for ending it anymore than a woman is a bad person for ending an unhealthy relationship.

As a 78 year old fan since Trisa and Ryan - I think Devin is a real jerk.
I don’t know why ABC would put Jenn through that proposal again. How cruel.

Have they ever not shown the proposal? No matter what state the couple is in post show, I feel like they have always shown it. That’s kind of a big part of this show.

I still like Devin and we don't really know everything that went down. He was respectful in not airing everything he was thinking at that moment on the finale. IMHO, he really wanted to air it out with Jenn privately.

What Devin did to Jenn,was horrible,what’s even worse ,was the show made her,as upset as she was,broken hearted,rewatch the proposal,it was heartless,and cruel.Shes a a nice young woman deserves a nice honorable,decent honest guy,to love and care for her.Not someone trying to be a winner,making empty promises.Devin has serious issues.

As they were going to commercial break you could hear him say “what’s going on here?” With a nervous laugh. I think he was keeping what went down private per an agreement. ABC protects the Bachelorette at all costs.

I feel like this was all for a dramatic finale. Devin never gave her an answer because she knew she wasn’t finding the right guy so they came up with this new scenario for the finale and the acting was terrible. I literally couldn’t take one more minute of Marcus saying nothing and then Devin saying nothing as to what happened as well. Marcus got out easily but Devin will now take the brunt of it and Jenn is the angel. They might have lost me on this one. It was so boring and fake fake fake!

Also thought it was weird how she was calling him out for going to the club after breaking up with her. Totally normal post break up behavior!

These shows are awful now. People go on them for the wrong reasons.
