You have to be off the charts low to get any prescription for low testosterone.

It is ridiculously restricted.

I was at the very low end of the range (by like a point or two) and they would not prescribe anything.

And these ranges (depends on age) are like 250-900.

There is a reason so many supplements advertise for low T.

I found that brickhouse fuel raised my testosterone but it ls like 200 bucks a month.

Before I started it I had already gotten in great shape and exercise a ton - but that seemed to drive libido lower so I I got tested (twice) for my levels before trying supplements. So far raised it over 150 points.

Mine was 170 in April. Doc was about to prescribe TRT. Recheck levels last month and test increased to 370. Only thing that I changed was getting some sun exposure.

What brickhouse product? I also might try shilajit.

48 yr old male with deskjob.

170 is low. Too bad you did not get the prescription- people who get or hgh say it is amazing. Probably shortens your life or something.

If you test later in the day it will be lower but the doctors know it and would not accept any results not first thing in morning that I have found.

Brickhouse force is the product I use.
It had a few ingredients my doctor said “show promise” but other than creatine and collagen peptides he said most supplements have no science behind them or studies.

Try the Indian Ayurvedic herbs called Ashwagandha and Guggul.

OP, thanks to everyone for chiming in.

Depression could be mixed in there, going to ask about it.

I don't work out near enough, I think this is a part of it... just fell out of the routine and now I'm finding it hard to do anything. I like to think that exercise will help me out in my case.

I sit in front of the computer too much and am starting to neglect outside chores like lawn maintenance... so many projects are backing up now.

I am curious about testosterone supplementation. I feel nothing like I did in my 20s or 30s. Hopeful that a combination of things will help get me moving in the right direction again for longer than a week or two.

I've noticed I've been feeling like this for about 3 years, but this year is worse.... I cant think about how I'll feel in 5-10 years if I continue this trend.

Dr. apt booked for early October. Got to try to start exercising agin in the meant time... ugh.

OP here, not a bad thought. Thanks.

Op here, this is good too. Motivation from another person could be very helpful.

You deserve to feel much better. I’m glad you are going to see if there is a medical reason.

I live on Hilton Head Island. 56 year old female. There are literally thousands of very active 50+ people here. Pickleball, tennis, golf, biking, kayaking, walking on the beach, etc. I play pickleball multiple times a week with 75 year old men. I lap swim every other day and the lanes are filled.

You are still young at 50 years old. If you have the means, I suggest taking a trip to a location like HHI. You will be inspired and, hopefully, motivated.

I have hypothyroid condition. Before I was diagnosed (30 years ago), I had become extremely sluggish, constantly tired and just felt off. Maybe ask your doctor to test your thyroid hormone level.

Good luck. It’s good that you are taking control of your health.

For those in good shape near 50, how much of your day is ACTIVE/exercise?

I don’t think 1 hour of exercise makes up for an 8 hr/day desk job.

I’m thinking, really keep the weight off and eat well, one has to be active/out and about for at least 3 hrs a day.

You need a CBC plus other things your doctor will prescribe if you tell him you have excessive fatigue. Serious things have to be ruled out.

Sounds like you just need a firecracker lit under your ass. I really don't think your healthy days are behind you.

Me personally, I would not do TRT unless you really need to. Other than the expense, I do wonder the potential downsides.

Lift heavy, run sprints and eat beef

Get a sleep study. 1/3 of people have sleep apnea.

Not true. Some people can have very low levels even after being outside a lot.
