First data since Supreme Court Affirmative Action Decison

What they are now discovering is that black students shy away from schools with few black students. So even if the student is highly qualified, they will avoid school X if they anticipate a limited social environment because of race.
I think that it’s better to have an all or nothing approach. All qualified black students limit their applications to fewer top schools so that at those schools, black representation could be acceptable.

At first I was upset that she’d throw away any shot with her great stats, but I now worry deeply about the discrimination she will experience in these environments where black students are a growing rarity. Spelman is her next stop.

Probably a good call. Our child is a sophomore at a lac and the students are completely turned off by the upcoming class, because they’re so Asian compared to previous classes.

Racists raise racists. No surprise.

Have you spoken to your child about their racism?

It’s an observation. You too would notice if your child’s school increased in black population by 10%+ overnight. I also didn’t say she felt that way, just that’s what students were saying. She doesn’t care, cause she’s a white kid just trying to take her classes

using the world turned off by the influx of asians is racist.

It really isn’t. You’re just sensitive I fear.

Another poster here. It’s obvious that your whole family is racist.

DC just finished orientation and found a handful of black students. Let’s just say she’s clawing to hit the transfer button. It’s great that some students will have more options to be with their community, but this is not the environment for her

Won’t that just make it worse for the other black students? What’s the obsession with being with people for a skin tone

Yawns. Anyway, there’s a growing amount of Asian students on campuses and if that f fact makes you uncomfortable to say, grow up.

You f*ck’n racists are cowards. Don’t even have the guts to disclose who you are. P*ssy!

I don’t know what possibly you mean by “disclosing” who I am or why that will help you rest tonight, but I hope you get better and start taking your prescription.

Wouldn't fewer black students attending mean more room for Asians? Isn't that what you want?

If the comment or is obsessed with having black students around, maybe they should stay at their colleges to convince other qualified blacks. Otherwise, the students should shut up and go to black colleges

Because it’s so much better to go race blind and pretend like you can’t see obvious changes in class composition
