I ordered a bottle of perfume from Nordstrom and received two. After a few days, I got an email from them saying if I didn't bring it back, they would charge me for it.
I was super annoyed as it was their error and the closest Nordstrom wasn't convenient. |
I had a company send me the wrong shirt and I called and was told to keep wrong item and correct item would be sent at no charge. |

We once received a gaming console and games that we hadn't ordered. I guess legally we could have kept the package, but we used it as a model of making a hard but honest choice for the kids.
I have a sliver of regret, but that's the "hard" part, right? LOL |
| I try. I spent a frustrating amount of time with a Walmart customer service rep once because I ordered something like diapers and got nerf guns. I don’t need or want nerf guns, but I needed the diapers. Eventually the rep just refunded my money and didn’t want the nerf guns back. I was still short the diapers that I wanted. At least I got my money back. |
I know this was frustrating but ordering diapers and getting nerf guns is pretty funny. |
| I ordered a headband from Alo yoga and received an expensive tennis dress. The invoice in the box listed the accessory I ordered. I first attempted to chat and the chatbot did not understand my request re: I didn't want to return the item I received since I didn't receive the item I ordered. I then emailed using the form contact on their site and never received a response (!!) so I kept it. It's cute and it's their loss. |

OP here. I ended up returning one of my items at a store, and brought the unpaid extra item with me. They told me I could either keep it, or accept a gift card in exchange for "doing the right thing."
Part of me felt a bit weird about it since I had to go to the store anyway, but decided to keep the item. |
| Costco sent me an extra $400 item so I did the live chat and three chats and two phone calls later they could never figure out how to process the charge for it so I gave up. I had one final email saying to call them but when I did that the time before spent 45 minutes on hold. The email couldn’t be replied to so o figured if they wanted their money they could give me a call and they never did. |
| Consider it low key advertising. That's your reward for post-it the company name |
Wow this is so f&cked up. I have so little free time that’s why I shop online. If this happened to me I would have said come and pick it up. |
| No, not my problem. |
This happened to me and they said said they wouldn’t pay to ship it back, it was on my dime. The item was large (infant car seat) and it cost an arm and leg to return. |
| This happened to me with target once. I tried calling and they had no idea what to do since the item wasn't on my invoice. Ultimately they said donate it if I didn't want it but they didn't know how to accept it back. |
| Yes. If they didn't send an item I ordered, I'd call, so it's only right that I call to let them know they sent me something I didn't pay for. I won't be spending my own money to send it back to them, though. |
| OP, I'm proud of you. |
