Yes, please spray the neighborhoods with DDT again. |
| If a bunch of neighbors get together to eradicate standing water and install a bunch of oviposition traps, that can be effective. |
| The mosquitoes are wicked. I hate it! |
| You know those food compost pickup buckets? Well they are the perfect mosquito incubators. There are like 20 in my alley alone. My well meaning neighbors are away on vacation in August and are responsible for swarms of mosquitoes. Oh, and those buckets are really good for attracting rats too. Pleas end this program. |
| Today I tried to sit out on my steps and drink a beer. I had to go inside within 3 minutes because I was getting torn up by a swarm of Asian Tiger Mosquitoes. I killed 8 of them near my legs within the first 45 seconds of going outside. It’s nuts. |
| Yes! This is an idea I could get behind. |
Yeah it is a real problem in our neighborhood. We used to hang out with neighbors in backyards and green spaces but no one wants to anymore because of mosquitoes. |
| Floridian here. Bats are the answer. We don’t have problems in our yard anymore since some bats moved in! |
What if some child gets rabies?!?!?!? |
| I hate them too. What works best for me is DEET or picaridin sprayed on the skin, and a fan for the porch. I don’t like when I go to someone’s house and they have a thermacell. I don’t want to breathe that stuff. I’d rather have it on my skin and then wash it off. |

I’ve been all over the world and the most mosquito-infested place is my backyard.
We bought an industrial fan, which helps. But I agree that governments need to get this under control before more people start dying. |
| You must live somewhere that is worse than I. I'm in central Fairfax and there are mosquitoes around but not to the level that they bother me. Yes, I get bit in the evening. So what? |
The mosquitoes in dc are truly horrible. Everyone who visits us comments. |
|
No, this affects the animal chain.
Simply work on bats, birds and other insects that eat mosquitoes. |
No it don’t Asian tiger mosquitoes aren’t native. |
