Running in the heat

I ran at 6:30 yesterday and had a headache all day after, even with drinking electrolytes during my run. Ugh. Can't wait for cooler temperatures.

I'd go for the rec center gym if I was trying to keep up with training.

I’m in Arlington and we have 2 indoor tracks at rec centers. Fees are low and I would use that if you don’t want to run on treadmill

There is an indoor track at the Wheaton Community Center. 13 laps is one mile. Sounds boring as hell. And, you spend 100% of your run turning so it's not good for your legs.

The only reason to be running at noon in the summer around here is if you are training/acclimating for Badwater:

Indoor tracks are bad for the legs if you are doing any kind of distance (more than 2 miles).

Please please do not run in the middle of the day in this heat. It is not worth it. You will get better benefits doing a HIIT bodyweight workout in your own home. You can do a highly effective workout in just the space of a workout mat. I'm a big fan of Peloton, but if you don't want to pay for that, I also like Bodyfit by Amy on Youtube - lots of different levels available!

Aqua jog at a local pool. It’s boring as hell (no change of scenery, can’t listen to anything unless you have some kind of waterproof headphones) But if you do it right it’s actually a REALLY good workout
