We reached that last year and we became empty nesters. Our goal was more fun together time and to get more focused on retirement planning which will happen in five or so years. More exercise was also part of it so we’ve both lost weight in the right places. A better sex life wasn’t a goal but it’s been a reality as being more fit with more energy has really helped.

My career is going decently ... I guess trying to sustain the momentum.

I've been pondering yoga teacher training. It would never be more than a side gig for me ... it would be more a way of deepening my practice. I know I'm old. But I'm not THAT old.

a lot of folks go through the 200-hour course mostly as a way to way to deepen their practice. I think only about half of my class went on to regularly teach-- I was one of the ones who never taught. I will, however, caution you against taking the teacher training at your favorite studio. It's very much a case of seeing how the sausage is made, and you will never be invisible in class ever again. If your yoga studio is where you unplug from daily stress and interpersonal politics, well, it can change that dynamic forever.

I plan to reverse my osteoporosis through diet, yoga, and strength training!

I am also like a PP trying to gain about 5-10 lbs (mostly lean muscle mass) so I don't go into old age as a frail older woman like my mother was.

I did this and feel fantastic!! I gained 15 lbs on purpose to help get my BMI in the best zone to get rid of osteoporosis.

The strength training, medicine, and diet helped a lot!

Yay! I am so happy for you that you did it! It is very slow going for me. Gaining weight is hard -- I am fighting some string bean genes.

This. Everyone I know who has gone the teacher training/intensive yoga retreat route had come away totally disillusioned.

It's this medically sound? Only asking bc i heard it's better to be slightly underweight as we age

There is a long-term professional project id like to finish — the sort of thing that no one is waiting for but would bring me great satisfaction.

Should I take piano or guitar lessons finally?

Pp. Returning to this thread to say I started going to a gentle yoga class, have gone for a couple of weeks and have done some online videos, too. I think committing here helped motivate me so thanks to OP. Hope to report back that I’ve sustained it!

Travel! See places I will be too old to get to in a few short years. Deepen my spiritual practice. See the friends I love who live far from me. Do the athletic things I won’t be able to do or do as well in a few years. Watch my health. Exercise a lot. Love on my kids.

It is really the opposite. Though what age that kicks in is subject to debate. 50s and 60s is probably too young. But by the 70s it is also known that carrying a bit extra weight can be good as appetites change and it provides some degree of protection in falls.
