So we are supposed to believe what you, an anonymous poster on the internet, writes? ID yourself so we can check if you are a credible source. |
So someone finally ratted them out. Good. |
Did you read the article? The student was interviewed by someone from the Red Cross. That's how they know what wasn't taught. Very weird that you're caping for these coaches. |
Regardless of whether or not there was a test-- how can you do a lifeguarding certification with only 4 hours of pool time? That's insane. |
| It doesn’t matter how it came to be known, disgruntled employee, or otherwise. They were not providing adequate training to new and returning lifeguards. Also, they were doing it while representing themselves as employees of top dc area privates. Despicable. |
But this was different, right? The lead instructor said this was a “one time lapse”. Did she lie about that, or is she misquoted? |
| So this was fraud? Also interference with employment? Hmmm. |
|
According to the article, Head of Upper School at HA was there as a helper. SMH.
Does anyone know the complete list of people involved? |
| Scandal is so overblown, I can’t believe there has been more than one thread on this nonsense |
The students who had to resign their summer jobs, go through training AGAIN, and their parents who have not received refunds likely disagree with this take. Who thought a four hour life guarding class was a good idea? |
| Wow. My kid did the online part but then had a schedule conflict for the in-person. Guess we dodged that one. |
Methinks the lady doth protest too much. |
| Someone was complaining about this here a couple weeks ago. Glad someone noticed. |
That’s her brother at HA. |
Seriously, best case scenario, this was a lot of incompetence and misunderstanding, in which case the only appropriate response is profuse apologies and full refunds. If it's overblown it's because people who effed up didn't take responsibility. |
