Swim coaches at SR, HA, and NCS/St A’s involved in lifeguarding scandal

I’m 99% sure all of the respondents on here who want to go to small claims court, or some sort of charge, job loss, etc have absolutely nothing to do with this - your kids were not involved, you don’t know anyone involved, you don’t go to the schools, or the pools, or have kids who can’t swim who would be life guarded by anyone involved or have any connection to this. So if this describes you, you might ask yourself why do you care enough to spend time talking about this.

Absolutely! You silly people calling out the coaches should just keep quiet. Why on earth would you care that there are professional coaches at local independent schools who delivered inadequate training for a high price?! After all , your kids can swim! So don’t be in anyone’s business… you probably don’t even know the kids who could drown!

Nice try Coach! The three should all be ashamed of themselves.

The silence on the lifeguard training scandal speaks to each school’s lack of commitment to its respective mission.

Insane that there are people out there that think this should be quietly dealt with and forgotten.

But actually though, if you are not involved in any way, why DO you care?

Why does anybody care about anything that has negative consequences for other people but no direct affect on themselves? Because we’re not a$$holes?

Agree. If one of their students was caught running a scam would they be asked to leave?

I agree but SR won't don't anything.

Why is this important?

Will be interesting to see what the schools do in response to this conduct by teachers/ coaches (which essentially amounts to cheating and theft).

The head varsity coach at Stone Ridge is not a "dud" by any means. He is a respected club coach in his own right. Club swimmers are generally excused from Stone Ridge practices on days when they attend their club practice. This is the case for all of the club swimmers, not just potential Olympians. If you listen to the aforementioned Olympians you will note that they always include their Stone Ridge experience as as essential to their development as swimmers, and as persons.

STA’s M.O. is to cover EVERYTHING up! Please see: football hazing scandal/coverup. You will only get silence from that school.

STA’s degree of communicativeness could certainly be improved. However, it should be noted that there were complicating factors in that incident. The school leadership met with parents but there were legal constraints on how much information they could share.
