Mine love children so likely they'll have at least one if and when all things aligned. |
Boomers and GenXers have made society incredibly hostile to working parents, so I don't think we'll see a lot of younger generations having kids until that changes. |
Mine too, but her reason is she doesn’t want to be pregnant and give birth. I asked her if she’d consider adoption and she said maybe. |
How can they? The prices for everything skyrocketed and wages have not |
Only if they want to be anything other than a wife and mother. |
Gen Xers?!?!? Um. No. |
Both of my Gen Z daughters say they want to get married and have 1-2 kids (but only girls, lol). |
Middle class kids can’t afford it and they know it. Poor kids crap out babies because they know they will be taken care of and will tolerate living with family and or government assistance. |
They've hade society incredibly hostile to stay at home parents as well so I don't think we'll see a lot of younger generations having kids until that changes. If any family goes single income for raising children, not only they face financial difficulties but lots of stigma painting SAHP as free loader and earner as controlling trad spouse. When at an appropriate time SAHP wants to go back to work, they deal with so many hurdles. |
Somehow retail, paper pushing, even being a nanny is more respectful than doing a lot more for your own family as a full time caregiver and homemaker. |
This is sad but true and poor countries without welfare system, people chose to have more kids and put them to work from childhood to support family. |
While here in the US the poor have more kids for more benefits. |
My DD has zero interest in kids or family. It is all career and travel. She says she wants to live life for herself. |
Good for her! |
DS is 23 and says he wants four or more kids. He knows finding a partner who also wants this might be tough. |
