I know you're trying to find something to blame MCPS, but this actually makes you look bad if you're a parent.
But then again, you might be on the trolls always trying to start $hit.

Simply asking a question doesn't mean I'm blaming MCPS. I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. If you know the answer, please share. If not, feel free to ignore it. Thanks!

You asked a loaded question.
You know damn well where you wanted it to lead.

You are very polite.

Keep telling yourself that. If the majority of families are happy enough with MCPS, incumbents would not be getting voted out en masse in the BOE elections.

Also, if you saw the results of the climate survey from the people who did respond in the session, I don't see how you can walk away with that rosy of an assessment of MCPS.

Well, over 80% of real MoCo residents are happy with MCPS, even after the pandemic.

+1000

Seriously there were loads of emails and texts. If you didn’t get them, get of dcum and figure out your communication settings with your kid’s school system

Both my children's schools sent the survey around repeatedly asking for people to take it -- and I got multiple emails/texts from central office.

Very strange, I didn’t receive any of these survey emails either.

Dang. I guess I got yours, too, 'cause I got it several times. Sorry.

They reviewed the survey results at the BOE meeting and many members asked for data on how many people opened the survey but didn’t complete it. They were also critical of the survey being 35 questions long.

One thing that was clear in the student, parent, and staff survey was that overall people grade their I ridiculous school higher than MCPS as a district. This wasn’t true for parents and students at my school, but interesting it was the trend elsewhere. The other clear data that should be a big red flag was the data surrounding disruptive behavior. Students in all grade levels noted disruptive behavior interrupting the learning process. BOE members asked how this data would lead to action and it seemed like CO would wait for individual principals to reach out and the directors would arm them with RJ practices. I think this is another indicator that RJ doesn’t work in the way that MCPS is implementing it

I would find that interesting as the individual schools are what make it a district. Which would make me dig into what about the district people actually don’t like.

RJ can’t work effectively in the way MCPS is implementing it because it requires more training and people. It’s likely to be effective in the schools where the RJ coaches are and where they spend the most time. For it to be effective in the district we’d need a lot more truly trained and qualified RJ coaches and a more realistic implementation timeline.

Our school had 40% of teachers giving it a D. I had no idea how low morale was.

There's a lot of information here that should make MCPS leadership feel ashamed of itself. Our school system is failing badly.

I work for MCPS and I got two separate surveys for my job and then the one for my kids. I got a ton of reminder emails, lol. To be honest, I am worried about the confidentiality and didn't do the one for the schools. I only did one of the surveys for the job, the one they said was anonymous (though you never know). Mistrust is pretty high with MCPS right now.
