I have so far seen pizza, chick fil an and regular sandwiches. Was looking for some other ideas. I think our family is just very picky. If we went to get sandwiches, everyone wants something very different. Same for chipotle. |
If your picky kids are wolfing down the catered chik fil a, I think whatever you bring will be fine. |
You can get a mix of wraps/sandwiches from plenty of places-- pretty much any supermarket, with advanced notice. They provide condiments too. Somebody will HAVE to like something in that mix! Add in pieces of fruit, chips and cookies and that's adequate choice. |
Do you have a brain? |

Going forward, lay this out pre-season. Our DS plays HS soccer and we have agreements with 3 places in town: local bagel place, CFA, and a local sub shop. Boys pick their orders before the season starts and they're given to the eateries. Your order is your order for the season.
For tennis, it would be much easier since the roster is smaller. OP, in your case pizza. Your family pickiness does not matter here. |

I’d go with any of the sandwich shop - Jimmy John’s, Potbelly, or Jersey Mikes(whichever is closer).
It’s your choice on whether to order catering (a few different sandwich choices with toppings in the side), or taking individual reports. I find someone’s order ALWAYS gets messed up that way. Or someone grabs the wrong sandwich or whatever. |
Did the people who did it before you buy for the parent too? I'd just do whatever everyone else did. |
Are you the OP? This is not the time to be picky. These are HS kids, and they should understand that sometimes, you might not get your first choice in group settings. I was a soccer mom, too, and we are pescatarians. A couple of times, there were team meals, and my kids would take the sandwich given and remove the meat and tomatoes, and were left with cheese and lettuce. They did not like cheese and lettuce sandwiches, but it was that or nothing. I did make sure they kept a bag of nuts with them so I could at least make sure they got some protein. Just get pizza; it's the easiest. Order some pepperoni and some cheese. |

Chicken parm/ meatball subs easily ordered from any pizzeria.
Wings and chicken with biscuits. Assorted salads. Cesear/chef/cobb |
What do you mean by "very picky"? If it's that someone doesn't want cheese, that's easy to remove. If you mean you have someone who doesn't eat deli meat, get a veggie option with hummus. Or do you mean you have a level of pickiness where they won't eat the sandwich because it touched a ham sandwich? *Wanting* a special order isn't a problem, but being able to find something to eat when you don't get your special order is the question. |
| Chipotle |
Maybe picky was the wrong word. Our family has preferences. If we go to chipotle, burrito bowls very different with meat and toppings for one kid, I like a very specific burrito with specific items. One kid wants everything plain. Another wants everything. We all hate beans. If there was any beans in any of our orders, we probably wouldn’t eat it. For sandwiches, it may be tuna, cheesesteak, Italian. Han and cheese, roast beef. We would never all eat the same thing. |
| I will probably just do sandwiches. My kid doesn’t like sandwiches. I may get him a cheesesteak. |
Ok. Yes my family would get individual orders too, if it was just us. But you can’t deal with the meat being chicken in a burrito with different toppings than you’d prefer? For one meal? Get a mixture for a group. Some w beans and veggies, some with only meat and veggies. Some with beans and meat and veggies. Anyhow. This is not the issue you think it is. |
If your family isn't flexible enough to deal with whatever's on tap for a single tournament, the challenge here is not choosing which meal to bring. |
