It's not easier for men. Men are more likely to do the things that actually help with being fit. Lift heavy weights, run sprints and eat protein. Women prefer yoga, water aerobics and eat plants. Do what men do and you will see similar results as men |
Exactly |
Of course- hormones. We already knew that. |
I’m the poster with a fit husband. Maybe there’s truth to this. He does eat more protein…although I can’t start following all of his habits bc I would blow up. Just had our testing metabolic rate tested and his is about 700 cal/day higher…so that’s easier for him |
Resting metabolic rate not testing |
Your premise might just be flat out wrong. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/article-abstract/2816190#:~:text=Women%20might%20benefit%20more,American%20College%20of%20Cardiology%20found.
Now, if you are narrowly focused on something like viable abs then yes, it will see easier for me to attain this because the have higher muscle mass to begin with (and correspondingly less body fat) so the impact of abdominal exercise will be noticeable more quickly. If you were actually talking about fitness and heath from a non vanity standpoint then I would say you don’t have to worry since your exercise is just as beneficial, if not more so. |
*visible abs, not “viable” |
Nope. Men have to deal with big bellies. Harder for them. |
His metabolic rate is higher because of the muscle. |
Oh god, it’s the “poo poo” person. |
Down side to getting in shape at that age with intense workout regime is it will kill a males sex drive. |
Oh god, it’s the lady at the gym who does 20 minutes on the elliptical and 200 arm curl reps with 5 lb weights, then wonders why she’s never losing weight and claims it must be easier to lose weight as a man than a woman. ![]() |
Duh. |
Of course it is. Look at any age group sport and the drop off for women at 40 compared to me and at ages beyond is huge.
Context - I’m 43 and a man and turned myself around right around age 40. |
Those of you that say you have a fit DH. Mirror his exercise plan and eat the exact same meals he eats (smaller portions) for 30 days and watch what happens to your body. Take before and after pictures |
