I'm sure you have a lot of Mormons that go to your HS that you don't realize are Mormons. It is cheaper than instate and parents want their kids to go there and marry another Mormon so a lot of times they won't pay for other colleges.

Check out the south park episode. Very funny, but accurate.

There's no way this is true. Especially since all women are encouraged to just get married and have babies.

I agree the original information is off base. Disagree that LDS women are encouraged to just get married and have babies. This is not true of wealthy and UMC LDS women for the last 2 generations. Some may end up staying home with kids, but not without first getting a quality education.

Lotta good looking women at byu

I will say we had a lot of BYU graduates in medical school. It fits the provider role mentality and many of them went on to very competitive fields of medicine.

My ds might apply. The campus is beautiful, he's not looking to do drugs or drink, loves sports, and it's a great school, plus he's used to a ton of Christian kids around even though we are not.

Is this Mclean? There have been a bunch of byu posts on Instagram in recent days but yes, I believe all the kids are Mormon as you would expect.

It is not incorrect. The director of laparoscopic hysterectomies at Johns Hopkins studied there after doing undergrad at UMD and medicine at GW. She is not the director of that speciality for no reason.

You people are morons full of generalizations based on zero information. So uninspiring.

BYU? this is what the web page says:
Dr. Vargas completed specialty training in the Harvard Medical School Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital integrated residency program in obstetrics and gynecology.

Do you live near Kensington? I assume lots of people affiliated the Mormon temple consider BYU.

This. It's for hard-core Mormons who want their kids to meet other Mormons. Although not the only option. I have a friend who is Mormon and one kid goes to University of Utah (still a lot of Mormons but not exclusively) and the other to Southern Virginia University, which is LDS-aligned.

I was thinking the same thing so I was incredibly surprised to see so many people from my kid's school committing to BYU. I didn't think that there were so many LDS families around here.

Where is ‘around here’? There’s a huge Temple right off the highway.

This is very odd to me, because as someone pointed out BYU doesn't have medical school at all. How do you end up misreading one person's webpage and invent the idea that it not only exists, but is good in a particular field. It's such an insane way to be wrong.

That's a pretty good reason!
