| I'm see this school becoming more and more popular at my kid's school. Why is it so popular? Anyone have any thoughts? |
| Maybe more and more mormons are moving to your kid's school. It'd probbably be more productive to ask someone like the guidance counselor AT your kid's school than a bunch of strangers who could be anywhere in the world and have no idea what school your kid attends. |

It's very rare for students who are not LDS to go to BYU (only about 1% students are not LDS.)

Someone's having a bad day... |
I was thinking the same thing so I was incredibly surprised to see so many people from my kid's school committing to BYU. I didn't think that there were so many LDS families around here. |
| I think you probably just do not realize who is mormon. I'm not sure why it matters though. My kids HS always has kids going to BYU. Some are good friends and others are teammates. If there is a LDS church in your area there will be a lot of families who attend your kids schools. |
| OP it has good medical programs, particularly Women's medicine. |
| The student behavior code is so restrictive at BYU, that almost anyone outside of the LDS religion would not be interested in such a stifling social environment. They have a good reputation for academics but there are plenty of equivalent options that don't require a conservative religious existence. |
BYU does not have a medical school. What program are you talking about? |
| Tuition + room and board for church members is less than 20k/year. It's hard to pass up given the price tag if you're Mormon. |
That's essentially the same as an in-state flagship, and the in-state schools don't tell you who you can date. |
There's no way this is true. Especially since all women are encouraged to just get married and have babies. |
This. The post must have been sarcasm. BYU does not have a medicine program. |
| I wonder if the PP is confusing BYU with Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, which is first rate. |
| There are a lot of Mormons in this area. |
