We’re in DC, on a DC-centric website (hence the name, DCUM). The OP asked about DC metro private schools. Please post on NYCUM (oops, that doesn’t exist), or stay on topic. Otherwise, move along.

If you can’t see the relevance, then you may be a Neanderthal.

Well, you’re definitely an idiot who struggles to stay focused. Btw, when you go low…I’ll go lower.

I would expect as much from a lower ape like yourself.

A guttersnipe like you would know.

I suspect you are not working with a full deck of cards so I’m just going to say have a nice day.

Have the day you deserve, troglodyte.

How so?

NP. Other than a pretty good track record for siblings, admissions to Maret out of our K-8 has always seemed random among a group of qualified applicants. Sometimes you could figure out the hole they were filling (for example, athlete or child of a VIP or otherwise connected family), but other than that, hard to tell what they were looking for year to year.

There is no meaningful difference in competitiveness of admissions among that set of schools, although "advocates" for one school or another will allege otherwise on DCUM.

GDS has had a transitory (very temporary) and odd issue with being overenrolled relative to the enrollment cap it preciously had agreed with the DC powers that be.

I mean there is. SFS is the hardest and most coveted

GDS is perhaps the most overrated school in DC. Search this forum for the drama.

LOL, the only GDS drama is coming from GDS boosters like you. It's so transparent it's starting to look desperate and sad....

STA followed by NCS, Maret, GDS, and Sidwell

Lol—no! Every girl I know who was admitted to Sidwell was also admitted to NCS (without exception). The reverse wasn’t true. As a matter of fact, only about 1/4 of the NCS admits were also admitted to Sidwell.

Of the 50 high-achieving 8th-grade girls you happen to know well enough to know their admissions results? I see.

Sidwell

STA. Every boy we know who was admitted to STA was also admitted to Sidwell but we know several Sidwell kids who did not get into STA.

As stated above, I’m speaking from personal experience. “Every girl I know” that applied to Sidwell and NCS, there were zero who were admitted to Sidwell and not NCS. Among the ~12 girls who applied to both schools, over the most recent 5 year period, only about 3 were admitted to both schools. Once again, I’m aware this is not a scientific sample size.

The Sidwell admits dodged a bullet! Especially, if they want to play football and avoid being hazed. And also if they like girls.

Huh?! So are you suggesting that football players who like girls should instead go to an all boys school? I am not trolling...I am just genuinely not following your logic here and am curious.

With our k-8, Sidwell doesn’t take the smartest kids but they do take the wealthiest.

I think Sidwell's football program is not long for the world.

Yeah possibly, but their basketball program isn't going anywhere!

In my experience, Sidwell takes the smartest and wealthiest kids.
