Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
I’ve heard of many micromanagement claims against him. I know of no harassment claims, though he has treated staff and community as his personal secretaries before |
He has been accused of harassment in the past. I wouldn’t doubt it. |
|
Teacher here and must say have seen no signs of harassment at all. He does support staff with all family and personal needs with leave much more so than other principals I have had over my career. He does like to be involved in things but it’s really to help and support.
Saddens me that people are speculating the worst on why he is out when honestly we just don’t know. |
Really? At Ritchie Park or elsewhere? |
Micromanaging doesn’t sound like anything to cause such a long leave of absence. In the past when administrators have taken medical leave (say for having a baby or a surgery ) the reason is disclosed in the community letters. It’s concerning nothing has been shared this time. |
I’m the poster you replied to. I agree, but I have no more information than you. I could speculate many things from investigations of harassment to investigations of other misconduct, but it’s not based on any real information. |
| It seems mcps is revisiting or reviewing all former harassment and bullying claims on file under the new leadership in response to the failures surrounding the Beidleman case. I would not be surprised if this is one of those and we may see more to come |
| Maybe Alexandra Robbins will be on the case |
| I always wondered why more than half of RP staff members, many of whom had been there for years, left since he became principal. RP was known for having very little staff turnover, but it hasn't been the case since he's been there. |
| As a staff member who had been there for many years most of those who left were due to retirement. I think we had 8-9 who retired since he arrived and we are a small staff. A few did leave and some were due to life changes. A few may have left because of how he was holding them accountable but that’s his job. I will say I have been impressed with his student centered approach and support of staff. Not saying he’s perfect but he really wants the best for everyone. |
Why would everything have to be turned into a news story? What has this world come to?!? |
As a staff member who was also there when he became principal, the staff who “retired” or left due to “life changes” were too afraid to speak up and say that they were actually leaving because of him, and that continues to this day. He’s known for yelling (and I mean getting very angry) at students and staff. If that isn’t verbal abuse, I don’t know what is. If he likes you, you’re good. If not, watch out because he’ll make your life miserable. |
Because stakeholders are sick of mcps covering up for bullies and sexual predators and the more it’s exposed, the more likely things are to change. Seems like this RPES administrator is no exception |
+1 |
| Here to say he is one of the best principals I've worked with in MCPS. Not sure what's happened here but hope he is okay. Never witnessed any harassment or bullying from him. |
