Does anyone know why the principal at Ritchie Park is on extended leave? He has been gone suddenly since early February with no details at all. Is this administrative leave?

I don't think MCPS is confirming anything related to leave at this time. He could be on personal leave or admin leave.

Was a letter sent out? Typically a letter is sent by someone whatever type of leave there is. How was the acting introduced?

Wonder what’s going on!?! The Principal at Ritchie Park is outstanding and works incredibly hard. He is also involved with so much within MCPS. Hope he’s ok and is back really soon!

As a parent at Ritchie Park this is very concerning! He has been such a great support for my children and is so student focused. He communicates more than any principal I have seen and really works in partnership with parents. He’s been great for our community! I do hope he’s ok and we see him back very soon!

While I haven’t always agreed with the Ritchie Park Principal on every issue, I will say he is always student focused and puts more hours in than any principal I have seen. He communicates, is transparent, and has great integrity. We can’t afford to lose such a dedicated leader like the Ritchie Park principal as we have lost too many others in the past few years.

Some of these comments sound the same. Sock puppeting?

He was at Barnsley before and yes he’s a great communicator, but he also had his downsides, he palled around with students, but rarely got to know them personally.

I hope he’s okay, but I don’t know why I have the feeling that some of these comments seem off.

Teacher here - worked with him at another school (not Ritchie Park). Does anyone think that he was potentially inappropriate/ this might be harassment related? Just some vibes some of us got from him at the time but he never did anything outright. But this news makes me wonder….
