MYS Boy's ECLN parent sends mass email to entire MYS program?

Here's the TLDR- Email is sent saying Boys program sucks so Union has to merge with BRAVE. Boys are just mad because they can't handle the truth and they don't want to play with BRAVE players/fear they are going to get cut and there is no ECNL program for them to go to. The reality is a lot of these boys will have to end up playing ECNL RL or that level of play. There's no money boys program for these boys to go to now.

BOYS ECNL for Union and Brave was literally just paying $$$ to be treated like a top player when in reality they all sucked

My kid plays U11 travel and I received the email last night. Seems the sender BCCed as many parents under MYS as possible. The sender has ten kids, six of which are in ECNL? If I were a parent in that position I'd be more involved as well.

Little harsh but spot on. Some McLean boys parents and coaches don’t seem to get that ECNL gets to decide if they are doing a good enough job. And they decided they were not. It’s great that the coaches and parents think there isn’t a problem, but that’s not going to keep you in ECNL.
This ship has sailed, there were no options anyway.
Do what’s right for the kids and move on. You want to prevent this from happening again in 2 years, pick the best kids to make the best teams no matter where they are from.
Clubs step up with communication, take the best from these Clubs and make this work.
Despite the horrible negativity on this board it’s still possible.

Why do you all feel that you should have been consulted? This crap only happens in affluent communities where everyone feels that their fees comes with a vote.

What parents are saying they should have been consulted? They are saying that MYS'/Union's own Assistant TD and Boys CD should have been in the loop. I don't have a dog in the fight, but I'm not sure I disagree with that.

What does consulted mean? Told what was going to happen before it did, fair that’s probably polite.
But it wasn’t going to change anything.
Hurt feelings seem to be causing a lot of problems here.
Most of us are desperate for coaching slates and ID sessions so we can move on and make decisions.
Meanwhile the boys coaches and some scared parents want to see what? If the press release can get taken back? If ECNL will change their mind?
Looking for an apology? Told that ECNL is wrong and they are truly special?

Except they are screwing the older age group kids who are in the middle of the recruiting process. The coach who will inherit the team will mostly recruit his players next year and the players from the other team will be left on the curb regardless of their skills. Those kids will have close to 0 chance to find an ECNL team that late in the game.

I am all for a merger if there is a well-thought through phase out strategy for the older kids as to not ruin their chances to be recruited. Sure the top players will find their path but the other, they don't deserve this especially if it was more touch and go for them. I don't see why 08 and 06/07 couldn't keep their 2 teams next year especially since those 2 teams are performing decently this year.

Ignorant comment here. It is exaclty the way it's supposed to be (Board of directors is elected by the members to make decision on their behalf. The board made a decision that the members don't approve, hence the resulting and quite to be expected chaos).

But what did ENCL exactly say? Right? We don't know. Did they really blindside MYS or was it more of a warning?

I don't like the merger but I understand its done and I am over it now. What I am not over is the lack of current communication from a club that we have been with for years at a cost of at least $30k. Just tell me who the coach is and when ID sessions will be so we can make the best decisions for our family and move on with our lives.

It’s go-time right now. If MYS can’t get its act together internally or doesn’t want to get on board this should be communicated to ECNL asap. VYS and BRYC (BRAVE) should proceed as mandated and those MYS families that want to join and move on with them should.
