This whole story is sus |
I don’t wish it on my worst enemy, which is why I’m wondering who we angered. |
you called law enforcement and they told you that? You do know that it’s not local police who investigate these kind of crimes, right? |
|
I think you need to have a very serious discussion with your daughter. You need to really determine if she is being truthful or not.
Which is more likely? 1) that your daughter is the victim of some crazy elaborate conspiracy involving sending porn to some random kid (who had to be identified and located) and drawing the police in… Or 2) your daughter sent some porn to a kid she knew. Seems pretty clear which is the more simplistic of the two scenarios. |
| Could it have been your DH? |
I assume they escalate it. If I receive suspicious mail, I’m not calling the FBI. I’m calling my local police and expect them to hand it off to the correct authorities. But they make the initial contacts. |
How would she have done this though when I’m always with her. She’s not a popular girl, doesn’t do sports, and is always home. She attends a dance class and piano lessons but I drive her there and stay the whole time. We don’t even have a printer to print porn. Where would she have printed it? How would she have mailed it? We don’t even have stamps, I autopay everything. |
| Wait, you tell the police officer that your child didn’t do this, they take your word and leave your porch? Wouldn’t they want to talk to your child? Why would the police believe you? Everyone says they didn’t do the crime. |
OP you haven't address option #2: DH did it. |
They did talk to her. That is exactly what happened, in less than five minutes, which is why it’s so bizarre. |
I really don’t think so. |
Not OP, but what DH would send porn and put his daughter's real name and address in the return field? Obviously, there's an option 3 that pp hasn't thought of. I don't know what the truth is either, but just because you can only think of two unlikely options does not mean these are the only two options. |
Don't call 311, that is a citywide number. Call your local district directly. The number is online. |
| Does your DD play games online, could she have met a child in another city that way or at camp? |
No to games online. She did go to a summer day camp, but it wasn’t even remotely close to this area, it’s close to my work, which is over an hour in the opposite direction. |
