What is the consensus on eating eggs if you have high cholesterol?

It’s also really important to cut added sugars and limit refined sugar intake.

OP here, thank you for this link. I don't eat a lot of meat but tons of sugar. I will definitely cut out the excess.

I have heard that if you eat excess sugar than your liver becomes fatty, and so cholesterol can be out of control. Cut out sugar, junk food, sodas, fast food, unhealthy oils ( vegetable, sunflower, peanut, grapeseed oil) and you should see good cholesterol results soon.

Yes. My cardiologist recommends low carb or even keto if you can manage it.

Ouch, a cardiologist recommending keto is so wrong. Atkins died of heart disease, and research shows keto diets drive CAD while the newest research shows saturated fats drive insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome and diabetes.

Yes keto will drive weight loss, but it is not healthy as a long term lifestyle.

Undetermined. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/death-of-a-diet-doctor/

Atkins was old-timey low carb.

These days people tend to eat more lean protein and lots of veggies.

Look at the portfolio diet. There are no eggs on that and it's considered a gold standard diet to reduce LDL.

LDL goes up in peri/menopause. I have never had high LDL until my 48 year old check up. I am doing more exercise and some dietary changes but I would prefer going on HRT than statins if necessary.
