OP here, thank you for this link. I don't eat a lot of meat but tons of sugar. I will definitely cut out the excess. |
I have heard that if you eat excess sugar than your liver becomes fatty, and so cholesterol can be out of control. Cut out sugar, junk food, sodas, fast food, unhealthy oils ( vegetable, sunflower, peanut, grapeseed oil) and you should see good cholesterol results soon. |

Atkins was old-timey low carb. These days people tend to eat more lean protein and lots of veggies. |

Look at the portfolio diet. There are no eggs on that and it's considered a gold standard diet to reduce LDL.

| LDL goes up in peri/menopause. I have never had high LDL until my 48 year old check up. I am doing more exercise and some dietary changes but I would prefer going on HRT than statins if necessary. |
