I am 46 divorced 3 years and my ex wife is 49. I have been dating a 31 years old lady and my ex wife told our daughter that my gf is “disgusting”.

Sorry one person has that opinion. Not all females think that way. Maybe it’s a good thing your ex is your ex. Hope the relationship with the 31 yo is still going strong.

The poster used a strong word “hate”. Women though have always had no so kind comments when an ex dates someone much younger than them. I don’t know why, but in my social circles I have seen women make comments whenever an older man has a younger gf.

I met my husband in a bar when I was 34 and he was 25. He was in hot pursuit, but I tried to blow him off since he was so young. He proved to be more grounded than I even felt I was myself and we've been married for 16 years with two awesome kids.

Good for you guys. I am newly divorced and on OLD. I am 45 and I can’t see myself dating a woman under 40. What am I going to have in common with her? To each his own but I strongly prefer prefer someone around my age. Having been married the last thing I want is be involved with someone new to the institution and be so exited and end up disappointed. The sweet spot for me would be a divorced woman with kids older than 40.

We don’t date the 20 year olds to marry them.

This has not been my experience. Maybe people are thinking things but not saying them when I share may age of 48 yo male dating a 29 yo female. She looks older tho and I actually have had more of an issue with the age gap than her or anyone else.

My 64 year old mother is dating a guy who is in his early 50’s. She looks like she is in her early 50’s as she is very pretty, fit and very outgoing. She said that guys her age and older were too old. I didn’t ask why! She met him at a golf outing.

Male who is in their 40 … i dated a 26 year old for a short period of time. She was nice and it was a lot of fun to have someone who was excited to go out and actually do things. It ran its course though and she was looking to have kids and was in a different place in life. Bottom line, it was fun for a moment but not for long term or marriage.

My 40 year old neighbor is living with a 25 year old.
I believe in live and let live, so I was fine with it. Then I realized that my 13 year old is only 12 years younger than the 25 year old while my neighbor is 15 years younger. So my neighbor’s GF is close in age to my 13 year old than her boyfriend.
It hit me in a new way.
